FUGAZI - Live A Forte Prenestino - (Kontagio Produzioni-Italy-1990)

Another live cassette at the famous social squatted center Forte Prenestino released by Kontagio Produzioni back in the 90s. Fugazi needs no introduction, and they played in this squat a few times, this is their gig on the 24/10/1990, the recording is OK and I left it unindexed.

For who missed the other posts: Kontagio Produzioni Tapes was a small distro releasing mostly live tapes recorded in this massive squat(probably the biggest in Europe).
Forte Prenestino is, in fact, a fort squatted on the end of the 80s and still alive and kicking.

BASTRO - Sing The Troubled Beast - (Homestead Records-USA-1990)

Fantastic LP by this American trio called Bastro from Louisville, Kentucky!! Their powerul mix of noise rock, post hardcore and math rock is explosive and I bet that they were a great live act. 10 tracks of this long playing, that doesn`t appear on their Bandcamp Page, I left these tracks as waves. Enjoy it.

FIRE PARTY/LIFE CIRCLE(LIFE CYCLE) - Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine -(Not On Label-Italy-Undated)

Another tape at the famous Social Squatted centre of Udine, I have posted a few tapes recorded live in this squat! This one has a few mistakes, the band Life Circle is, in reality, called Life Cycle and on the folded cover sleeve, it says that they are from England, while they are from Wales, on the second track the singer clearly states that they are from Wales making me think that also on the flyer of such gig they were mistakenly called English.

Fire Party were part of Dischord Records, an interesting page about them is here

I wrote already about Life Cycle when I posted their amazing album The Weight Of Tradition.

The live recording is okay-ish and the cover sleeve report very little info and no song titles, but a leaflet against the oppression of the native Americans. (in Italian, only).Enjoy it.

v.a.-Sounds Blasts! EP2-(Sounds-UK-1989)

Second ep released by the famous British magazine Sounds in 1989.It includes 4 fantastic bands from the post-hardcore scene of that era.

Sounds was a UK weekly pop/rock music newspaper, published from 10 October 1970 to 6 April 1991. It was well known for giving away posters in the centre of the paper (initially black and white, but colour from late 1971) and later for covering heavy metal (especially the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM))[1] and punk and Oi! music in its late 1970s–early 1980s heyday. One of the trinity of British music weeklies, along with NME and Melody Maker, Sounds folded in 1991 after the parent company, United Newspapers, sold all their music titles to EMAP Metro. Morgan-Grampian had been acquired by United Business Media – then known as United News and Media – in 1987, first as part of the United Advertising Publications (UAP) division and later as part of the then CMP Information portfolio. A legacy of Sounds was the creation of the heavy metal/rock magazine Kerrang!, which was originally issued as a supplement before being spun off as a separate publication. DUMA YARMA-Some Body Call A Priest-(Pesants Revolt Records-UK-1991)

Second album by this genial band from Reading active at the end  the 80s. I have already posted their first album Bomb In A Crowded Restaurant released by the same label in 1990.

As I said in that post I have little info about this band as there are not many words on the net about it and it remains with an obscure veil of mystery. Coming from the very political DIY/Squatting scene and active in Reading and around the UK, they took part in parties and festivals with friends such as RDF and Sore Throat. This album comes with a folded lyrics sheet including some precious info. I am posting some here.

Their music is a personal blend of post-hardcore, new wave, and some hints of old-school industrial, definitely something very original. I don`t know much about the label although I reckon it was associated with the band. To complete this post I am adding the whole album from my Youtube Channel.

3 very big Thanks to Vanessa for introducing me to such an amazing band, lending me her copy of this cool piece of vinyl to digitize for the blog, and providing this info.
Enjoy it.

DUMA YARMA-Bomb In A Crowded Restaurant-(Pesants Revolt Records-UK-1990)

There is not much info on the net about this band, just a couple of songs on Youtube and their 2 LPs listed on Discogs yet no words at all. I have fragmented reports, they formed in 1988 and probably disbanded around 1992/93. They were from Reading and friends with Radical Dance Faction , they played often together in festivals and parties. This is their first vinyl issued with a folded A2 16 page photocopied booklet, made at Acorn Bookshop, Reading (UK).It reports the lyrics and quite a few strong political messages as comic strips and weird graphics.it is included in the download folder.

WHIRLING PIG DERVISH-Full Feather Lovesuit-(Gruff Wit Records-UK-1991)

Great 7 inch by this Scottish post-hardcore band from Glasgow!
I have already written about them when I posted their cassette Out Of Tune,Out Of Time... released in 1991  just as this vinyl.
Expect the same dose of weird and original sounds, fragmented guitar riffs, broken rhythms, screamed vocals and more rather bizarre passages.
A wonderful 7inch for people into difficult Post-Hardcore Punk to digest.
It comes with a little info-sheet with lyrics, all the relevant scans included here.
Enjoy it.

DAWSON-First Peel Session 09/05/90-(Unreleased-UK-1990)

First Peel session by this amazing Scottish band, I have already posted the second one and some of their studio productions. As the description there fits very well in this post I just gonna C+P it here. I am adding a great video made for the song"Bears Den To Bagdad" discovered on their FB page.
Back in the early 90s, I was in touch with Dawson, They kindly sent me an amazing tape with some live recordings by various Scottish post-hardcore noise bands, the tape also contained 2 Peel sessions by Dawson! Unfortunately, I lost the letter that came with this cassette but I reckon these recordings were not released and I cannot find any info about it. I left them as waves.
I already wrote about this fantastic band: compared to names such as Butthole Surfers and Minutemen, Dawson throws in their songs sheer violence and electric energy mixing some Avant-guard fast chaotic guitars riffs, math rhythms, weird vocals and experimental jingles that make their music original and difficult to categorize.
Coming out from the very lively Noize Post Hardcore punk scene from the end of last century, they shared common interests and sweats with StretchheadsWhirling Pig Dervish and  Archbishop Kebab, all very original bands hailing from Scotland.  An FB page about them is here, where you can see old flyers and pics, a new band formed by the 3rd era Dawson musicians are called Sumshapes and their Bandcamp page is here, you can listen/buy their album Cabin Biscuits released June 30, 2017.
I guess there is no need to talk about John Peel and his famous radio show, all the music lovers around the world should know John Peel already. The recording of this tape is excellent.
Enjoy it.

DAWSON-Terminal Island-(Trottel Records-Hungary-1994)

Another great album by this amazing Scottish band, I wrote already about them when I posted their album Cheese Market,
This is their last production infected as usual by fragmented guitar riffs, unconventional rhythms, weird vocals and lyrics, eclectic disjoined arrangements, avant-garde post-traumatic hardcore punk for the non-easy listening people. Bizarre and unique, a crazy miasma of sounds and ideas.
An FB page about them is here, where you can see old flyers and pics, a new band formed by the 3rd era Dawson musicians is called Sumshapes and their Bandcamp page is here, you can listen/buy their album Cabin Biscuits released June 30, 2017.
Trottel Records is a Hungarian label established in 1992, operated by Tamás Rupaszov. Their official webpage is here.
Enjoy this fantastic album as FLAC file.
