FIRE PARTY/LIFE CIRCLE(LIFE CYCLE) - Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine -(Not On Label-Italy-Undated)

Another tape at the famous Social Squatted centre of Udine, I have posted a few tapes recorded live in this squat! This one has a few mistakes, the band Life Circle is, in reality, called Life Cycle and on the folded cover sleeve, it says that they are from England, while they are from Wales, on the second track the singer clearly states that they are from Wales making me think that also on the flyer of such gig they were mistakenly called English.

Fire Party were part of Dischord Records, an interesting page about them is here

I wrote already about Life Cycle when I posted their amazing album The Weight Of Tradition.

The live recording is okay-ish and the cover sleeve report very little info and no song titles, but a leaflet against the oppression of the native Americans. (in Italian, only).Enjoy it.

SCREAM - Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine - (Not On Label-Italy-1988)

Scream was a hardcore punk band from Virginia, USA, formed in 1981 by brothers Pete (vocals) and Franz (guitar) Stahl, Skeeter Thompson (bass), and Kent Stax (drums). The band was later joined by second guitarist Robert Lee "Harley" Davidson. After the release of their 3rd album, "Banging The Drum", Stax departed and was replaced by Dave Grohl. The band continued for a few more years before splitting in 1990. Dave Grohl went on to find major success with Nirvana and the Foo Fighters. Pete Stahl has also performed with a number of bands, including Wool (2), Goatsnake and Earthlings? and collaborated with Sunn O))) and The Desert Sessions. He was also road manager for Foo Fighters and Queens Of The Stone Age. Franz Stahl was also a member of Wool (2) and, briefly, the Foo Fighters. Kent Stax played drums with Oi! band The Suspects.

Scream has reunited for several reunion shows in the Washington, DC area over the years (with Stax in place of a very busy Grohl, although the latter has made some guest appearances).

GUERRA FREDDA/STRELNIKOFF - Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine - (Not On Label-Italy-1989)

Strelnikoff were a Slovenian  electro punk-rock band active in between 1988 and 2001. Members were Franek Markošek - guitar, Robert Ceglar - saxophone, Tomaž Vučer - bass (1988-1989), Sergej Steblovnik - vocals & programming, Vasja Ocvirk - vocals & programming, Scheet (ex Afflict) - bass (1989-1990), Aleš Uratnik (ex Epidemic Zone, Non Finire Mai) - bass (1994-1997), Iztok Mravlje (ex Phone Box Vandals, Semprini) - bass (from 1997).

The Strelnikoff Mary of Help of Brezje controversy or the Strelnikoff Affair (Slovene: Afera Strelnikoff) began after a depiction of Mary of Help of Brezje holding a rat instead of Jesus,it was published by the Slovenian music group Strelnikoff on the cover of their 1998 album Bitchcraft. The album was made in protest of the official views of the Roman Catholic Church in Slovenia and the statements of some of its highest representatives on the subject of abortion.
The first to condemn this depiction was Franc Rode, who was the Bishop of Ljubljana at the time. This was followed by general public outcry and expressions of the inappropriateness of the misuse of one of the most known symbols of Slovenian Catholicism. The State Attorney's Office received 3,867 public protests and 1,208 requests for indictment. These were united in one that was at first rebuffed before the Celje District Court. However, the state prosecutor Elizabeta Gyorkos filled a complaint. The group members also received phone calls and threats. In August 2003, the indictment was refused by the Ljubljana Higher Court as well. In accordance with the Constitution of Slovenia and the Slovenian law, the court concluded that the authors were "tasteless in their artistic project, however they did not surpass the boundary of allowed at all." (from LastFM )

Guerra Fredda was an anarcho-punk  band from Venezia, active on the end of the 80s.Enjoy it! click me

GRONGE-Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine-(Not On Label-Italy-1989)

This is an amazing tape documenting the live show of this fantastic band at the Social Squatted Centre of Udine(Northern Italy) on the 21st January 1989.
Try to describe the music by this great band is not easy, with thousands of various influences they play a very personal form of Avantgarde Art Rock, their live shows were explosive mixing improvisations and performances leaving the public struck with an assault of lights, costumes, body movements, improvisations and more genial ideas, changing all the time.
I was lucky to see them twice back in the 90s ,they blew everybody away. Their various productions are quite different music-wise,as well.
Indexing this tape was very difficult because many tracks are mixed up, it took me a long time and for whoever will get it then please read the notes that I have added. The recording is pretty amazing, delivering to us their full energy as a great live act.
To complete this post I am adding some info taken from a Wikipedia page dedicated to them + an old video from their Youtube Channel.
A very big thanx to Marco for giving me permission to post this astonishing live document.
Enjoy it.

History Of The Band

Born during the New Wave era but with a very original music idea, Gronge has been groundbreaking of many music genres that evolved in the following years.

The name of the band, that prefers to define itself as a musical collective, originates from the roman slang and it means a boxer apparently defeated but who still has the strength for his last punch.

Their music style is been defined by themselves as tecknopunkcabaret because they mix in their shows music and theatre. Among the first bands to include in their compositions some samples,

they have been an epiphany for important Italian bands like Zu.

They have been, together with Franti from Turin, the first to propose the DIY/self-production in Italy.

Gronge, that from 2014 change its name in Gronge X, are still active.

In 2015 They have published a CD titled Manuale Di Imporvvisazione Per Giovani Socialisti released on Danze Moderne label.

Between 2015 and 2016, the Again Records reprints all their discography of the 80s and the 90s in two double cd.

CONCRETE SOX/DOOM-Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine-(Not on Label-c90-Italy-1989)

Very good recording of this great gig at the squatted social center in Udine(Northern Italy) on the 30/03/1989.
Concrete Sox was a UK hardcore/crust band formed in the early 1980's - broke up in the 1990's. As of 2009, they are reformed by founding member Vic Croll. I am not sure if they are still active now.
Doom  Formed in 1987 in Birmingham, the United Kingdom, however, they began as The Subverters, with Bri Doom (guitar), John Pickering (bass/vocals) and Jason "Hog" Hodges (drums). About the time Hog was replaced by new drummer, Mick Harris (Napalm Death), the band changed its name to Doom. (read more...)
This tape was re-released as CD-R in 2010 by those labels:
Lazypunx Autoproduzioni, Fra Il Di' E Il Fa' Al'E' Di Mieç Il Mâr Autoproduzioni.
The music in this folder is my rip of the tape, I have added the graphics of the CD-R taken from Discogs.
I guess this will make happy all the crust-punks around the world.
Enjoy it.
