Ever since childhood, Jewels Of Shame has been fond of machinery noises. When he was a child his dad used to take him to the factory where he worked, and JOS would sneak in engine rooms and fall asleep to the pounding sound of the machines. As he was growing up he started falling asleep to the sounds of black metal, sludge, and industrial/noise giants such as Merzbow, Maurizio Bianchi, and Throbbing Gristle. So when he first acquired a PC, he thought he might as well try out make his own sleepy music. He started making field recordings on a cheap dictaphone and of the train station, bar air conditioners, and of the basement of the Physics and Engineering departments of the university in his hometown, which he mixed on the easiest-to-use sound programs with samples from video games and accidentally conceived loops. He gradually started adding recordings of barrel banging, breathing in the microphone, meowing neighborhood cats, and later instruments, such as the guitar, accordion, piano, flute, and other ones. Being a bit of a socially awkward guy, he never published any of these tracks, apart from playing them to his punk friends, and he eventually ceased his bedroom ambient/drone/noise career in 2009, as work and studying obligations prevailed. Nobody can tell for sure what got into him and he decided to send Wormhole World his private recordings ten years later. Hopefully, he will not dig out of his vault more jewels of shame

Inside its pages we find tons of mail art projects and flyers about mail art exhibitions too. Warning : Mail addresses here probably obsolete.

Force Majeure - Force Majeure - (Concrete Collage-France-2022)
Force Majeure’s self-titled six-track debut LP of noisy soundscapes, illbient beats and experimental techno drops as a digital release
on French label Concrete Collage on 13 April 2022.
This short LP traverses a dark path into noisy and dense layers of processed sound – brooding and powerful in its intent, but still retaining some intricacy and dynamics.
The work is described by the artist as ‘The sound of the earth coming apart at the seams; nature turning against its aggressor.’ Some musical reference points include:Roly Porter, Speedy J, The Haxan Cloak, DEFCE, The Bug, Phuture Doom and Kamikaze Space Programme.
Force Majeure is one of the latest musical projects from Nick Ronin, a London-based audio/visual artist with over twenty years of gigs and artistry behind him. This project is a new stepping stone in the artistic career of someone who was born from the more rave-orientated British underground DIY scene. Here, the lack of a dancefloor focus provides a good opportunity for him to explore the more experimental and abstracted side of his musical tastebuds.
Although a devoted fan of synthesis, this project is chiefly concerned with how far recorded audio – vocal noises and foley-style sounds – can be manipulated and processed into thoroughly electronic realms. Bar a few obvious analogue synth sounds, all of the final Force Majeure output is the result of granular, spectral and effect processing and all of the sounds have been performed and recorded by the artist at home.
With the advent of this debut release, things are gathering pace for this new sonic adventure – with Force Majeure recently tackling a performance of two live soundtracks at an event in London as well as working towards a special surround- sound liveset in May. Fans of this unearthly sonic palette can expect a follow-up release of more textural experiments derived from the new performance setups later in the year.

GUERRA FREDDA/STRELNIKOFF - Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine - (Not On Label-Italy-1989)
Strelnikoff were a Slovenian electro punk-rock band active in between 1988 and 2001. Members were Franek Markošek - guitar, Robert Ceglar - saxophone, Tomaž Vučer - bass (1988-1989), Sergej Steblovnik - vocals & programming, Vasja Ocvirk - vocals & programming, Scheet (ex Afflict) - bass (1989-1990), Aleš Uratnik (ex Epidemic Zone, Non Finire Mai) - bass (1994-1997), Iztok Mravlje (ex Phone Box Vandals, Semprini) - bass (from 1997).
The Strelnikoff Mary of Help of Brezje
controversy or the Strelnikoff Affair (Slovene: Afera Strelnikoff) began
after a depiction of Mary of Help of Brezje holding a rat instead of
Jesus,it was published by the Slovenian music group Strelnikoff on the
cover of their 1998 album Bitchcraft. The album was made in protest of
the official views of the Roman Catholic Church in Slovenia and the
statements of some of its highest representatives on the subject of
abortion.
The first to condemn this depiction was Franc Rode, who was
the Bishop of Ljubljana at the time. This was followed by general
public outcry and expressions of the inappropriateness of the misuse of
one of the most known symbols of Slovenian Catholicism. The State
Attorney's Office received 3,867 public protests and 1,208 requests for
indictment. These were united in one that was at first rebuffed before
the Celje District Court. However, the state prosecutor Elizabeta
Gyorkos filled a complaint. The group members also received phone calls
and threats. In August 2003, the indictment was refused by the Ljubljana
Higher Court as well. In accordance with the Constitution of Slovenia
and the Slovenian law, the court concluded that the authors were
"tasteless in their artistic project, however they did not surpass the
boundary of allowed at all." (from LastFM )

Flour Power N3 - (Fanzine-Canada-1993)
As described on the cover, this zine is all about anarchism and punk music. It reports many anarchist activities (bookfairs, meetings, workshops, conferences) and punk festivals and gigs mainly happened in Canada around the early 90s. A good tool to research the underground scene of that era in northern America.

ATTANAS - Joulupukki-E.P. - (Hätäapu Records-Finland-1987)
Attanas was a punk band of the late 1980s in the city of Tampere, Finland.
Or from a place called Lentävänniemi in northern Tampere, to be more
exact Attanas, the band itself and their closest friends were
members of a local youth club, "Lentsun klubi". From those youths was to
become a band that wanted to tell what they thought of matters
surrounding them without asking anybody. Also, they played their music
just as they wanted, with no regrets. Influences were drawn first
mainly from 77-punk but later there can be found similarities with
hardcore or even speed metal. Not to forget about alcohol and
its consumption. Though Attanas released four records, three 7"
EP's and 8 tracks on a compilation album "Stop Vivisection - Use
Yuppies", they never toured or even did too many gigs. The main reason
for that was that they really didn't care too much to leave
Lentävänniemi.

BLIND JUSTICE - Demo Tape 4 - (Self Released-UK-1993)
The band played a few gigs and recorded their first demo tape titled Rock'n'Roll Vermin with its original line up. Jolly parted company in 1989, joining fellow Merthyr punk band Foreign Legion. Wolfie joined on bass for a while but was replaced by ex-Foreign Legion bassist Eggy for the band's second recording session in 1990, collectively titled Into The 90s. This line-up was stable for the duration of the band's lifespan, until sometime in 1994 when the band ceased.
During 1993 signs were positive for the band with their anti-prejudice song X-Ray Vision appearing on Bosstunage Records' early compilation LP Floor 81 (which also included classic 1990s UK underground punk / alternative bands Sink, Sofa-Head, Love Junk, Exit Condition and many more), a cassette titled 9193 was released by Polish label Demonstracja Tapes (using recordings from the last two cassettes Self Injustice & 43).
There was also a 7" and an album planned with Full Circle Records (which was announced in Maximum Rock'N'Roll through an interview with Full Circle's Andy Turner). Unluckily for Blind Justice Full Circle soon closed down. A couple of other small independent record labels were also in discussion with the band at this time but these didn't progress further. This was the beginning of the end for the band. Gus had also just started college in England, making rehearsals almost impossible.
Following the first cassette Rock 'n' Roll Vermin with Jolly on bass, Blind Justice recorded five further sessions, with Eggy on bass. The first was the Into The 90s cassette, the next two in 1991 combined to make the Self Injustice cassette. Another recording in 1993 made the cassette titled 43 and a final one song demo, which would help to make up the Blind Justice cassette on Poland's Demonstracja Tapes.
Blind Justice played gigs across Wales and England, with a short mini Irish tour (with Northern Irish band Alumni Feedback) in 1992. The band supported bands including UK Subs, Joyce McKinney Experience, The Abs, Thatcher On Acid, Wat Tyler, Cowboy Killers and many others, together with the band's own headline shows.
There were numerous compilation tapes, fanzine articles and interviews with or about Blind Justice, together with independent distributors, spreading the music and name, from across the world (predominantly Europe, with some in USA, South Africa and other places too) including: Suspect Device (UK), Vision On (UK), Pogo Post (Germany), Zips and Chains (Italy/Yugoslavia), Puke (South Africa), Crude (USA), Crud (UK), Little Green Man Music (UK), No Man's Land (France) plus many more.
All the recordings were demo tapes, rather than highly polished official releases, which perhaps catches the band's live sound better than spending months in the studio: The total hours spent in a studio recording and mixing would add up to about a week (17 songs). (from their official webpage)
I have posted already their Demo Tape n3 released in 1991.To complete this post I am adding their only official video of the track "X Ray Vision", and I left these tracks as waves. Enjoy it.
