 Marco Veronesi was a key figure in the history of the famous label ADN from Milano, label covered in this blog a few times. Released in a limited edition of 300 copies with fold out poster cover. It was assembled by Piero Bielli and Riccardo Sinigaglia. A bunch of great artists playing various forms of experimental music. A fantastic sampler kindly gifted to this blog by Carlo. Influential political West-Berlin punk band. Formed in spring/ summer 1978 as DC 10. They had their first live gigs in 1979 in preparation and to promote the Berlin Antifa-Festival September 1979. SCARY HAIRY Overcoming Limitations Of Being Raised As A Girl (Fanzine-UK-2014)

 

This is a zine about feminists and body hair, the stereotypes that come with feminism and other people’s stories. It is supposed to be seen by all sorts of people, feminists and not feminists; it is targeted at people to inform them.

I am not sure how positive the message is. To me the writer/illustrator of this zine seems really pissed off and has approached to zine in quite an aggressive way. For it to be fully understood this zine needs to be read first hand.

They are communicating what feminism is and issues and stereotypes that surround it. It has been communicated through passages of text together; this makes it easy to read and fun at the same time. Gender stereotypes have also been broached showing the difference between boys and girls and how they are put in boxes as soon as they are born.(review from Critical Journal)     click me

 A pretty special zine mixing various subjects :the travelling experiences of the zine maker(this time He is in Naples for Xmas and New Yeara Eve), reviews of gigs in London and Brighton, interviews to a few bands, music reviews, skateboarding,hip hop and more.The music styles are quite different as well, making this paper rather interesting. The zine maker seems to be into  punk music as well as techno and electronica. Give it a go...

v.a.-Songs About Women (In The 21st Century)-(Digital Release-UK-2014)

Musicians rose to the challenge set by the band Gertrude to submit a track about a woman in the 21st century. The result is an eclectic and vibrant compilation album, offering a variety of feisty garage punk, electronica and folk, as well as a dash of street poetry. All the tracks on the album will be reviewed by Gertrude on their blog at gertgossip.wordpress.com You are welcome to add your responses to the album here too.

This album was mastered at Bentstring Studio, November 2014. The cover art is by a revolutionary Cuban artist called José Gómez Fresquet. The image is called 'Series of dreams of the Americas' and was completed in 1969.
A big thank you to all the artists who appear on this album. The first track on the album was recorded live (on a phone), at an open mic night during a political occupation of 4 boarded-up council flats which was instigated by the Focus E15 campaign.

CULTO DEL CARGO-7" Collection-(Tunes From he Dumpster-Italy-2014)

A cargo cult is a belief system among members of a relatively undeveloped society in which adherents practice superstitious rituals hoping to bring modern goods supplied by a more technologically advanced society. These cults, millenarian in nature, were first described in Melanesia in the wake of contact with more technologically advanced Western cultures. The name derives from the belief which began among Melanesians in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that various ritualistic acts such as the building of an aeroplane runway will result in the appearance of material wealth, particularly highly desirable Western goods (i.e., "cargo"), via Western aeroplanes.

This is the Italian D-Beat Crust band from Treviso formed in 2010, featuring members of Gelo (3), Caprosmorto, Timothy, Terrorarium and Corporation of Consumption and this tape contains all the 7 inches released previously.

ELECTRIC FUNERAL-D-Beat Noise Attack-(Voice From Inside Tapes-Ukraine-2014)

Originally released in 2010 by the Swedish Distort The World records And Tapes,this is instead the copy released 4 years after by the Ukrainian Voice From Inside.I have already written about this band when posted their tape Make A Change.

Electric Funeral plays a super distort crust punk raging political statements reported in the cover sleeve.

For all the fans of hyper distort fast d-beat crust punk this tape is a  good one.

LIONEL DIXIT-No Edge-(Obsedante/Stoned To Death-Czech Republic-2014)

Lionel Dixit is a duo from Czech Republic playing experimental/tribal and improvised  noise music using different instruments.

This tape is recorded live in  2014 and it seems to be their first production,limited edition of 70 copies.

TROPICAL NIGHTMARE-Demo-(Beleza Discos-UK-2014)

Tropical Nightmare is a new band from London while trying to get into a music agreement, from the premises of playing punk music, they reach a climax of post-hardcore mixing crust and doomish-hellish music.
