v.a.-THE CAR 004-(Old Europa Cafe-Italy-c60-1991)

Another old release by the amazing Old Europa Cafe, Italian label specializing in ambient, noise, industrial, and power electronics since the late 1980s and run by Rodolfo Protti. 
I posted already quite a few old tapes by this label, it is still active nowadays organizing gigs and releasing lots of very good artists, its actual webpage is here. 

This compilation features a bunch of nice projects active in those old days. It came out in a plastic envelope with coloured xerox copy listing the addresses of the artists and the song titles.

TAM QUAM TABULA RASA-Lacrymae Rerum MCMXC(c46-Old Europa Cafe-Italy-1990)+ Muleacenani-(c46-Old Europa Cafe-Italy-1994)

T.Q.T.R. is  Luca Ferrarini,Marco Berisso,Paolo Gentiluomo and Roberto Soprani.This Italian band is been active since the late 80s releasing a good amount of tapes and cds. "Muleacenani" was released on Old Europa Cafe(old Italian label of industrial music managed by Rodolfo Protti and still active nowadays)as c46.This tape was re-released on double cd together with “Lacrymae Rerum” tape, always by Old Europa Café label,in a limited edition of only 150 copies back in 2006.
Some people call the music of this tape “archaic drone atmosphere ambient”, the term quite make the job for me. An ethereal flux of dreams/sounds bringing you throu a spiral of desires and flames. 
If you are into ritual music and dronish noise this tape is for you.

As for the music of Lacrymae Rerum(the tears of the things)-this is a bit different from  Muleacenani,a different approach and technique is used, delivering us a much more industrial sound reminding me some of the very first SPK releases. The ethnic/ritual drone- noise is still there but somehow loops and metal objects cranking and bashing are thrown in creating  a mixture of deviant extreme electronic sounds that eventually crash within.There are also some tracks a bit more rhythmic  that blow us in a destructive  yet creative and organized chaos.
The usual aural texture of the other releases is still there but this time with a cataclysmic cacophony.

I already  posted few tapes by this great German project,I am re-posting here now 3 more cassettes already passed to Vita Ignes Corpus Lignum blog few years ago.
Siegman Fricke and Dieter Mauson were active and  very prolific  during the 90s,they are back together as DSIP and here there is their official blog.
 I simply love this project and I will very likely post more music by them in future.Enjoy it.

DOC WOR MIRRAN-The Power Of Positive Obscurity-(Old Europa Cafe-Italy-1993)

"The actual name "Doc Wör Mirran" was thought up by Bernard H. Worrick while he and Joseph B. Raimond lived together in San Francisco in 1982. But the real history of DWM begins when Bernard H. Worrick and Joseph B. Raimond both moved to Nürnberg Germany in 1985, where Joseph B. Raimond bought an analog 8-track recording studio and began to record what has since become a huge body of recorded work. The concept of DWM though from the very beginning was to combine music, graphic art, painting, sculpture, poetry and just about every other medium of art into one project. The open-membership policy of DWM is an important part of the DWM philosophy.In the early 1990's, Bernard H. Worrick moved to Florida, taking with him an important part of the group's identity. But DWM has continued onwards without Bernard. Bringing Bernard back to Germany and returning him to the DWM fold has become one of the goals of the group. Although rarely playing live, DWM is not averse to live concerts, although playing live is not one of the priorities of the group. Since the departure of Bernard, DWM has become especially interested in collaborative efforts with other artists, both recorded and live. Recent developments with DWM include the formation of a new label within MT Undertainment devoted exclusively to the recordings, literature and artwork by DWM and its various members"(from Discogs)

TZARINA Q CUT - The Code Puke Years - (Old Europa Cafe-Italy-c46-1987)

Tzarina-Q-Cut is Jakob Draminsky Hojmark and Jorgen Teller both Danish artists involved in many bands and projects.

This tape was released by the Italian label Old Europa Cafe back in 1987.

This tape is a full co-operation between those two artists and it did happen via mail-exchanging and collaborating via the letter box,it was summer/autumn 1993,and at the time email and internet didn`t exist yet.

This tape was released by three different labels;the French Facade,
the Italian Old Europa Cafe and the German  Trummer Kassetten ,my copy is from this German label.

Very nice experimental electronic and more weird passages of fantasy and joyful sounds.Lovely collaboration by 2 great musicians.Enjoy it.
