RAKSHA MANCHAM - Phyidar - (Musica Maxima Magnetica-Italy-1992)

This Belgian group's music is strongly derived from the music of indigenous peoples worldwide, and is played on native instruments from Tibet, Egypt, Brazil, Morocco, Mali, Nepal and the Cameroon, along with many other acoustic percussion, wind and string instruments. (from Discogs)

"Phyidar" may be defined as the "second broadcasting" of the (Buddhist) "doctrine" in Tibet. It has deep connections with the history of Buddhism - as Buddhism was initiall y introduced in Tibet during the VII th century and was eclipsed during the late IX th, the X th and the early XI th century. There was a second "broadcasting" of the (Buddhist) doctrine in Tibet in the early XI th century.

This first CD of Raksha Mancham is a compilation of the first three vynil albums of the band, plus several new tracks.Recorded between 1987-92 and mixed between 1989-92. Some versions on this cd are different from the original vinyl albums.
Also released as a limited deluxe boxset (108 copies). (from their official webpage   click me

RAKSHA MANCHAM - Chös Khor - (Musica Maxima Magnetica-Italy-1993)

This Belgian group's music is strongly derived from the music of indigenous peoples worldwide, and is played on native instruments from Tibet, Egypt, Brazil, Morocco, Mali, Nepal and the Cameroon, along with many other acoustic percussion, wind and string instruments. (from Discogs)

"Chös Khor" refers to a Tibetan concept, that can be translated as "the holy circle", "the holy enclosure" or "the holy enclave". "Chös Khor" represents the universe in which the human beings live, the world they inhabit. The musical themes developed in these recordings refer to human populations and their natural environment. "Chös Khor" offers visions of different parts of the World. So by creating that music, the aim of Raksha Mancham is to produce that vision of the World by suggesting images in the mind of the listener.(from their webpage)   click me

Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia - Ov Biospheres And Sacred Grooves: A Document Ov New Edge Folk Classics -(KK Records-Belgium-1992)

Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia is a project of the Dutch electronic musician Reinier Brekelmans. Formed in the early ' 80, they came to light only when they converted to the "ambient house" scene with the single Exit 23 (1991), strong with a heavy beat and the voice of Timothy Leary that murmurs "return to the source ". Their art progressed with the individual Ov the Maenad (1991), which mixes world-music and techno, and Out Now. The album Ov biospheres And Sacred Grooves (Kk, 1992) was in the ORB's ambient dance music vein. (The album contains eight tracks distributed over four tracks.) The Challenge (eight minutes) presents a soft techno and veils of African polyrhythms, moved by Bubbles Electronic Linkage (starting at the minute 7:56) omits all the electronics and disintegrates those polyrhythms in the long wasteland of scattered noises of the Tides (starting at the minute 12:15). Anathema Ov Jean Jacques Derrillard (first song of the third track, about seven minutes) is instead a grubbing concert of subliminal music for noises, "treated" sounds and electronic buzz, from which the second part of the Challenge (at seventh minute) takes body, a kind of psychedelic soul deconstructed in a cubist manner, and then the Key (to the minute 14:17), a sort of paleohistorical Lambada, and finally the exuberant Batucada of New Edge Mantra (retail 20:36). The last track is a remix of eleven minutes of the single Exit 23. The album was taken from the monumental single obsidian (20 minutes), which was inspired by the first Klaus Schulze and the ambient music of Brian Eno. On the album is the second track (i.e. the fourth track), lasts only seven minutes and resumes the "African" techno with an electronic melody string. source: https://www.scaruffi.com/vol6/psychic...  -

Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia – Out Now! - (KK Records-Belgium-1994)

Formation from Holland (Tilburg), specialised in blends of deep techno, subtle trance and ambient soundscapes, mostly redefining the adjective 'tribal'.
At the end of 1992, Robbert Heynen left the group to concentrate on his solo project Exquisite Corpse. PWOG went through different line-ups and after a long silence re-emerged in the 2000's with a remix compilation and a few appeareances. They dissolved after an final performance at Incubate 2016.
Tim Freeman, Robbert Heynen and Reinier Brekelmans started a new project immediately afterwards; SUMUS.(from Discogs)

DOGSTAR COMMUNICATIONS-Ain Soph-(Dogon Musick-Usa-1997)

Dogstar Communications seems to be an american project where few artists join forces to play a kind of non-conventional tribal/esoteric music mixing some dark ambient, etheral voices, echoes of some unknown electronic passages and obscure rhythms.
A great album for the lovers of certain mesmerizing occult powers and gripping reverberations.
Enjoy it.

v.a.-DEVASTATING TEMPLARIC SOUNDS-(Biotope Art Organization-Italy-c90-1991)

Incredible compilation of tribal esoteric electronickx released by this  cool label back in the  early 90s.
I wrote about this amazing label many times now and I posted already lots of very good tapes by it.
This sampler offers us some of the best acts, coming from this very undergroud scene, active during those years and it has a very nice colour cover too.
Enjoy it.

TAM QUAM TABULA RASA-Lacrymae Rerum MCMXC(c46-Old Europa Cafe-Italy-1990)+ Muleacenani-(c46-Old Europa Cafe-Italy-1994)

T.Q.T.R. is  Luca Ferrarini,Marco Berisso,Paolo Gentiluomo and Roberto Soprani. This Italian band is been active since the late 80s releasing a good amount of tapes and cds. "Muleacenani" was released on Old Europa Cafe(old Italian label of industrial music managed by Rodolfo Protti and still active nowadays)as c46.This tape was re-released on double cd together with “Lacrymae Rerum” tape, always by Old Europa Café label,in a limited edition of only 150 copies back in 2006.
Some people call the music of this tape “archaic drone atmosphere ambient”, the term quite make the job for me. An ethereal flux of dreams/sounds bringing you throu a spiral of desires and flames.
If you are into ritual music and dronish noise this tape is for you.
As for the music of Lacrymae Rerum(the tears of the things)-this is a bit different from  Muleacenani,a different approach and technique is used, delivering us a much more industrial sound reminding me some of the very first SPK releases. The ethnic/ritual drone- noise is still there but somehow loops and metal objects cranking and bashing are thrown in creating  a mixture of deviant extreme electronic sounds that eventually crash within. There are also some tracks a bit more rhythmic  that blow us in a destructive  yet creative and organized chaos.
The usual aural texture of the other releases is still there but this time with a cataclysmic cacophony.
Enjoy those brilliant pearls.
