KOOS-The walkman tapes-(Sound Action-South Africa-1990)

Unknown to the most Koos from  South Africa were active in the 80s playing avant-gard and art rock remind us lots of east European experimental bands of the  late 80s.
This tape is entirely recorded with a walkman tape recorder and  a single microphone,no over-dubbings and post effects were added to these recordings, making  this tape a masterpiece of art rock in its core, essential and hard to listen yet genuine.
It was eventually released on Sound Action, little and creative tape label from South Africa.Nijgh & Van Ditmar ‎from Holland released a full cd  of this band back in 2006
This tape is not indexed.
For you into adventures of weird sounds.
Joyful no sense art rock and post avantgard muzik.

GINA FEAR & GYPSY-The shame that binds me (c46-diy+Rodent Tapes-1990-uk)

Here another tape received from Gina Fear with a handmade cover, different from the original that was released on Rodent tapes(UK) back in 1991,I am attaching a small review here that I have found on  the magazine by General Purpose Cassettes.

“The shine that binds” is an interesting cassette of music that soothes the mind.Gina & Gypsy `s music reminds me very much of the music from  the Durutti Column or maybe  some 4AD stuff. The female vocals(which remind me of Algebra Suicide)drift off into the mix as guitar and drums float lightly underneath. The music is not very tightly structured but works very well as loose as it is. This tape comes with a hand-colored j-card.

( review by AK-taken from General Purpose Cassettes 005-magazine + tape-1991-Usa)

Another classic from the past!!!!!!!
Enjoy it.

NOSTALGIE ETERNELLE & FROM NURSERY TO MISERY-Art is the tool(split tape-diy-1990-c30)

Originally released on One Last Dream label back in 1990 and with a color picture as cover, this is instead the copy that Gina Fear sent to me back in 1996 and it has a handmade cover, the name of the label is not listed and neither the year of release. Here I am attaching a review that I have found on Discogs.

Ah, now, this is a little better. The NOSTALGIE ETERNELLE side is well-played - a little moody, a little poppy. The vocalist sounds not unlike ADI NEWTON singing up an octave. The music reminded me at times of JOY DIVISION & BAUHAUS, with elements of early FASHION, without getting too close to any of these. The bassline on one of the tracks could have been pinched from THE SLITS "Love & Romance". Although in this it appears in a different and (dare I say it) better context. The vocalist is the definite focal point - these people have a bright future - invest now.
The F.N.T.M. side shows a little maturity over "Equilibrium". The music is still good, well-constructed synth mood pop, but, as ever, it's the voice of GINA FEAR which dominates. This time they use a lot more harmonics and it improves the sound no end. GINA's flat vocal style (?) takes some getting used to, but it has to be said - it grows! Considering all three review tapes, this would be a good starting point for those interested in F.N.T.M. (or NOSTALGIE ETERNELLE!).

Originally reviewed for Soft Watch.

It is a very good tape of "ancient" synth pop!!!
Considered a classic by lots of people.

Various Artists-BLATANT PROPAGANDA,vol 1[cd-r+zine] (Blatant Propaganda Zine - Australia-1998)

Australian electro-industrial label which after many years of activity went into hibernation and offline in 2004 and resurrected in 2009 as a scaled down format as a compliment to the original and main project, Eye (3).
(from Discogs)

This cd is not listed on Discogs and I think it is their first compilation. It came out with their zine(included here). The zine covers issues such as pharmaceutical frauds, against Mcdonalds, East Timor, cancer research, vaccination`s frauds and more.
The compilation is very good covering electronica, industrial and darkwave packed with very underground artists: Eye, Testube Sterile, Zeitgeist, Keystone, Novakill,T roll, Centrifuge, Aya and many more.

Professional recordings and good songs. Here 2 small reviews taken from one of their flyers:

"Blatant Propaganda vol. 1 has been keeping itself busy in my cd player for many moons.I have been really surprised by the high standard both of the bands and quality of the sound on the cd.I was able to appreciate all the bands involved in the project"(Terry Goldfain, editor of Revelations magazine - Adelaide ,Australia).

"that cd sampler is GREAT" Lord Litter, Germany-dj on Europe-wide  Radio Marabou.

It was released in a strictly limited edition and it was sold for only $5 or 4 IRC.
They are still active, here their webpage. On the same page you`ll find the list of all their old productions that are not available any longer, this compilation is one of them.
A very good one for people into ebm, darkwave,i ndustrial and the like.
Enjoy it!

MAUSER FK-White man`s overbite (diy-demo - Holland -1992).

Yet another great band from the Netherlands (Amsterdam) that was directly influenced by Victims Family  and that released  one and only album "We `re right...", a jewel in Jazzcore to make it simple.
They played around Europe in the 1993-96 years, even had tour dates in France with Victims Family and one can feel other slight touches in the likes of NoMeansNo or Rhythm Pigs and more when listening to their wicked tunes.
We're talking Hit-Tunes here, of course.
Line-up:
Vocals: Hank. Bass-vocals: Dick. Guitar: Joeri. Drums: Marcel (aka Marzel ex-BGK, Nitwitz and now playing in Norton)-(info taken from youtube)

I have not much to add as I have no info about this band,I can only say that it`s a great demo, good recording and  very well played.
For the lovers of Victims Family,Assassins of God,NomeansNo!!!
A small treasure from the good old days.

IVICH -Sculpteur de cris -(diy demo-France-1992)

Ivich was a crust/screamo band hailing from France and active in the 90s.This is the first demo, they recorded a bunch of 7inches and one lp on Pikaia recs on 1994.
I saw them live  on may 1994 at the Schrott Bar festival in Biel (Switzerland) and  they were explosive.
A good demo for crust punks.
