F.T.C. - Pelliccia Viva - (Self Released-Italy-2002)

 A band from Nuoro (Sardinia) playing a raw form of anarchopunk with double (male/ female) vocals shouting political statments and messages against  our democratic society,the police repression,the nazism,the army,the religion obscurity,the animal exploitation...

Recorded in their practise room on the 10th October 2002,it came out with a  folded cover sleeve reporting info and lyrics.The CDr contains also 3 cover songs of great punk italian bands(Arturo,Scum Of Society and Peggio Punx).The recording is not bad at all yet very DIY as we would aspect from such political band. v.a.-Nothing To Lose...But Our Chains...(ABC/Counter Information-UK-199?)

 

90 minutes cassette compilation with lots of bands from the political British underground scene of the last century. It was a benefit for the Counter Information paper. The various recordings are pretty good, and there is very little information on the folded cover sleeve.

 A compilation very much from that era mixing HC Punk, Dub, and generally anarcho-punk in its various forms. Big thanks to Mark Terminus for this little gem of the lost and found underground world.Enjoy It.

SL&C n10 - (Fanzine-South Africa-200?)

 Fantastic fanzine from South Africa with lots of very good articles, flyers, pictures, interviews, reports, and music reviews! It came out with a great CD compilation that I, sadly, lost...! Sorry, it is not included with it. About a real introduction I attach their "Welcome Note" from the 1st page. And, by way SL&C stands for Peace, Love & Chaos. Enjoy it.

NO ARMY - Senza Resa - (Disobedencia Distro-Mexico-199?)

 

I must admit that I don`t know much about this band,from the liner notes of the cover-sleeve I understand  that they were punk anarchists from Milano (Italy) and active on the end of the 90s.

This tape was printed and distributed  by the Mexican Disobedencia Distro- the folded cover sleeve reports the lyrics and info in Spanish language.

It includes their demo called Senza Resa and some live tracks from their 1997 tour.

The music is classic anarcho-punk and the recordings is kind of DIY,!

Obscene TapeZine N6 -(Self Released - Italy -1996)

 Obscene TapeZine N6 is a huge project including a tape of radio shows from Radio Kaos and Pirate Radio Fuck International + Obscene zine + Punk Container + a big poster. I am going to describe briefly the 4 items contained in a big plastic bag.

The Tape:All the stuff contained in the tapezine comes from the shows on Radio Kaos and Pirate Radio Belin Fuck International. The stuff on the tapezine is going to be divided into two different projects; The side A contains the mix of demo tapes delivered to Obscene zine-no selection was made, different music styles, to show and transmit sounds, noises and lyrics contained into independent cassette releases...
The B side offers a panoramic view of the punk scene. The DIY and self-management of the 80s. This idea was born from the need to analyse the development of the punk movement in Italy.To unveil the influences that created it, to show this music/ideas and also to dig into it. On the hunt of what is never been published so far...

Obscene zine n6 , this contained visual poetry, mail art, flyers, comics and articles-somehow a bit messy but visually striking, here the introduction to this issue.

Punk Container :Punk Container was an experimental project of archiving old punk fanzines from the 80s and making them available at low-cost to whoever wanted them. At the same time, the organizers of such a project were asking people to send them old zines to expand their archive. It was a non-profit ongoing project. The whole idea came from the will to not loose experiences and activities from the counter-culture. Punk Container includes articles about the DIY culture, the world of the fanzines and independent press, the history of certain self-released productions and detailed info about the fanzine`s archive that was available at the time.

You`Re So Hideous[Special Crazy Boredom Insect Annihilation Syndrome Issue]-(fanzine-UK-1994)

Another amazing issue of You`Re So Hideous punk fanzine created by Ben, who was previously managing the cool fanzine Raising Hell.
  Inside this, you`ll find interesting articles, scene reports, interviews with bands, reviews of cassettes and eps/lps and more great writings.
Very nice graphics work just like the proper old school zines.Enjoy it.

v.a.- Orecchiette Alla Pestona - (Terapia Intensiva/Kollettivo Indios-Italy-1998)

 Number 1 of  this seire-I have already posted the Number 2-or called Bis-compiled by Roberto Liuzzi, who used to write a newsletter called Contro. I cannot find my copy, this is the digital one passed to me by Roberto, I got back in touch with him not long ago, he has nowadays a blog: Tribe`s Union, which mainly focused on the Italian HC punk scene.

This compilation offer to us a selection of great bands coming from Apulia region, active on the end of the 90s.The booklet reports info and contacts. I have translated,freely, the introduction to this sampler:

 This compilation assembled by the chefs Terapia Intensiva and Indios Collective, it was born from the will to get together in 1 tape the music by bands around us. a sort of manifesto of the expressions of the DIY punk scene from the Apulia region. This scene is close to us geographically, we live in Apulia. Maybe this is the first action of this kind in our region. We thought to make it as a fundraiser, eventually we want to use the profit out of it to build a DIY screen printing to print T-shirts, stickers and more stuff and use the money raised from their sale as a fund to help various organizations (animalist,anti-army, ecologist...)which we care of. Actions that we have had in our minds for a long time, this idea is definitely something that we can define as THINK GLOBALLY-ACT LOCALLY, this is our Compilaton Orecchiette Alla Pestona. The dish is very yummy and we hope that the tape will be yummy too.
This sampler will not stay alone, in fact, we are already thinking to release a second volume next year, a volume that will include other bands that we couldn`t fit in here for various reasons. So, stay tuned..you can write to our addresses...

WARPEACE/DISABLED - Two Way Split -(Obdura Distro-Italy-2011)

 Split Cd-r with two crust-punk bands. Warpeace from Italy and Disabled from Indonesia!! 5 tracks for each band in this political release,the  folded cover sleeve reports lyrics and info,the music is d-beat/crust punk as well as the graphic layout.  Up Against was a band from Montrel (Canada) active at end of the 90s. This 7 inch has 4 fast and violent HC Punk tracks, the folded cover sleeve reports pictures, lyrics and info.Drunk Records was a small DIY label from Montreal (Canada),probably managed by the band. Eventually I left these tracks as waves .Up The Punx !

 N7 of this historic british punk zine managed by Steve in Burton-On-Trent during the 90s. He was also running a distro and a tape label called simply Mut. I have, already, posted a few issues of this great zine.

Long compilation compiled by Roberto Liuzzi, who used to write a newsletter called Contro, back in the 90s. I had lost my copy of the booklet and so I couldn`t retrieve the track-list of bands/songs, funny enough lately I got back in touch with Roberto,after a very long time and he kindly provided the scans of the booklet. Roberto has nowadays a blog called Tribe`s Union, which mainly focused on the Italian HC punk scene.

The sampler Orecchiette  Alla Pestona Il bis is the second issue of this series and it covers HC Punk bands from Puglia (and a few strictly related bands of the surrounding area) active at the end of the 90s. The booklet reports info and lyrics, I have asked Roberto to write a few lines to present this great sampler, so here is his message:

Nostalgic Attack! This strong sensation felt from listening to this tape compilation, after 20 years that I didn`t play it. A time journey that recalls many reminiscences: a freeze frame, an adrenalinic picture of that precise and very rich moment, a peak of a creative and antagonistic turmoil (fanzines, bands, squats,t.a.z, and similar diy events)like, maybe never happened before in that region.
It is so clear in my mind as an experience that I have lived, it is an unforgettable memory.
Selective criteria in choosing the acts(only  HC Punk bands from that area, with many different sound variations, only Pugliesi bands with just a few cousins very close in that area)based on human/attitude affinity, all united to imprint on tape our will to make ourself heard, everyone hoping to keep going in our journey.Thanks, Faraway to renew the experience.

Raising Hell N24 - (Fanzine-UK-2021)

 Issue 24 of this very famous English Zine ,the issue 23 was released in 1990 and then Ben relesed a few zines using the name You`re So Hideous during the 90s. After 30 years Ben got back in the zine scene with his well-known name "Raising Hell", just when Sned of Amorphous Pieces released a full book -Omnibus 1982-1990 containing all the old issues squeezed into 500 pages,a microscopic monster,to say at the least.

In this issue interviews to Mau-Maus, Rebel Riot and Backstreet Abortions + the Mexican libertarian collective J.A.R., thons of music reviews ,books reviews, graphix and rants. An excellent zine and the editorial of this issue is definetly something to read...! Enjoy it.

AGE OF CHAOS - Stop The Torture - (Self Released-UK-2007)

 

Age of Chaos is a band from Bognor Regis, West Sussex, England, UK.! They released a tape and a couple of  7inches on the end of the 90s,this self produced CD  is dedicated to the animal rights and anti-vivisection  propaganda. The political lyrics are listed in the folded cover sleeve where we`ll find a few info about the recordings and animal aid groups. 13 tracks of furious HC Punk from the very underground of the English punk scene. Off With Her Head Promotions Flyer (UK-1991)

 

"The gig in question: Earth Citizens/ Pszychisz Terror/ Duckwind, The Queens Hotel, Scunthorpe, Saturday 25th May 1991

Two 'punk' bands from Switzerland, Pszychisz Terror, apparently, refused to open their luggage at customs and got turned back. "More Cider!" was Fritz, EC's guitarist's refrain between each song: Dry cider - the drink of the Gods he had just discovered and proceeded to drink to excess! Slotted in well with the locals.

 

Duckwind was a band formed from members from local psychedelic band Duck In Fog in order to play Hawkwind tracks; this included Col Spence on bass, who played in Terminus and was also a member of DIF before joining us - and Mick Hare on drums, obviously a Terminus drummer -  Rocky, also played guitar in DIF before playing in Terminus for a short while, and vocals would have been Graham Davis - DIF's vocalist.  "  (Mark Terminus)

 Anarcho-punk fanzine from Croatia focusing on music and politics.The interviews to foreigner bands are in english while other stuff is in croatian language.
