KENO-Retroflex Ep-(Bandcamp-UK-2020)

 

“Retroflex" was a recording project developed by Keno throughout the coronavirus lock down period. What started out as an experiment in pairing electronic drums with electric guitars, soon became a 5 track EP. After sending ideas back and forth online, the music was recorded in a living room in Clapton.

As this recording project was approached as a one-off, there is no plans to use sequenced instruments live in the future, but it was an interesting experiment to utilise what was there at the time.

Any money generated by sales will be equally donated to two organisations that offer support to communities affected by social hardship and institutionalised racism. One is based in the UK and the other in Australia. We do not plan to recoup any money for the production costs of the tape etc.

BAD BRAINS - Live In Amsterdam (28/5/87)-(Watergate Tapes-USA-1987)

Bad Brains are an American hardcore punk band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1977. They are widely regarded as among the pioneers of hardcore punk,^[1][2][3] though the band's members have objected to this term to describe their music.^[4] They are also an adept reggae band, while later recordings featured elements of other genres like funk,^[5] heavy metal,^[1] hip hop and soul.^[5] Bad Brains are followers of the Rastafari movement.[5(from wikipedia).

Watergate Tapes was a label created by Jeffrey Surak, who was also recording as 1348 and Violet (2) Later resurfaced as Zeromoon, which is offering many of old releases by Watergate Tapes in mp3 format.(from Discogs)

AGE OF CHAOS - Stop The Torture - (Self Released-UK-2007)

 

Age of Chaos is a band from Bognor Regis, West Sussex, England, UK.! They released a tape and a couple of  7inches on the end of the 90s,this self produced CD  is dedicated to the animal rights and anti-vivisection  propaganda. The political lyrics are listed in the folded cover sleeve where we`ll find a few info about the recordings and animal aid groups. 13 tracks of furious HC Punk from the very underground of the English punk scene. BETON COMBO - Sound LTD EP -(Static Age-Germany-2014)

Influential political West-Berlin punk band. Formed in spring/ summer 1978 as DC 10. They had their first live gigs in 1979 in preparation and to promote the Berlin Antifa-Festival September 1979. Tendencies N05 - (Fanzine-Italy-1990)

  Tendecies was an indipendent publication active on the end of the 80s, printed in 200 copies, an idea by Giorgio Bartolomei with the help of a few friends, focusing on  music and art. I have already posted issue 04. This is the 05 and it contains interviews to: Underground Life, Somewhere In Europe and articles about The Rest and Venus Fly Trap + some comics and tons of reviews of zines and music productions.

A great tool to research the fantastic music and art scene of the last century,this is underground press at its best.In Italian language only.

BOL-E-ZEN - Svetovni Dnevi Duševnega Ultrazvoka - (Debila Records-Slovenia-2020)

 

 "Svetovni Dnevi Duševnega Ultrazvoka" means "World Days Of Mental Ultrasound" while Bolezen means Disease in Slovenian language.This is the project by  Tomaž (nicknamed Hruki). In the 90's he's been active in a bunch of legendary grind/noise bands like Diarrhoea, Deca Debilane and No Profit. Also he's been a second vocalist for Extreme Smoke 57's 2013 NoiseFest gig in Ljubljana. 

In this amazing tape Tomaž crafts 4 brilliant tracks of quiet-noize transporting us in a world of dreamlike sounds and messages.

It was released in a limited edition of 30 copies by the Slovenians label Debila Records and it comes with a badge.

v.a.-Yugoslavia Punk Hardcore Compilation DIY-(Not On Label-Yugoslavia-90s)

 A compilation tape received at the beginning of the 90s from Milan Duric or from Sasa Multinovic, sorry I do not recall well. It is all about old  bands active in the 80! Most bands play punk rock, a good sampler to know the lively punk scene of the Yugoslavia.
