LUBRICATED GOAT - Schadenfreude - (Black Eye Records-Australia-1989)

Australian noise-rock band, whose main member was Stu Spasm (born Stuart Gray). Lubricated Goat fell apart after Stu was stabbed during their 1991 tour. Stu reformed band few years later, however, with all-star line-up which included members of bands like Cop Shoot Cop.

Black Eye Records was a subsidiary of The Red Eye Record Label in Sydney, Australia in the mid to late 1980’s. It was started specifically to accommodate the darker and irreverent music created by the consortium of Tex Perkins, Stuart ‘Spasm’ Gray, Lachlan McLeod, and Peter Read. It was deemed by all involved that a separate identity was necessary for the very different sounds and outlook to Red Eye. Black Eye officially ceased to exist when the parent label ran short on cash at the end of the 80’s - but all due royalties were paid, and the principal entities were going their separate ways anyway by then. Much of the story, and graphics, of Black Eye can be found in the recently published 252 page book ‘Snaps, Crack, Pop!’ assembled by the Labels’ founder John Foy with original Red Eye art director Jim Paton - released October 2018.

dUASsEMIcOLCHEIASiNVERTIDAS-Poda/Enco-(Associação Terapêutica Do Ruído-Portugal-2018)

I know dUASsEMIcOLCHEIASiNVERTIDAS and Associação Terapêutica do Ruído since a few years now and I was thinking to make a post about them already last year, lately, I met in Lisboa Boris and Joao and I asked them to write something for this post. Today I am proud to present this band and their music releases+biography and videos. They play a very personal form of noisy free jazz mixed with art-rock and avant-garde propelled bass lines, obsessive guitar riffs + rhythmic weird passages.
As I was very curious about their name, I did dare to ask:  dUASsEMIcOLCHEIASiNVERTIDAS  means "two reversed semi-quavers" or "two reversed sixteenth notes" (or "due semi-cromi invertiti;) and the original idea was to have just a symbol/logo with no name, but then at a certain point the symbol had to become a word and that's how we ended with this name:)
They have out quite a few releases, split tapes, and collaborations, all as a free download on their bandcamp page.

Here a short bio provided by Joao:
"Formed in 2007 by the same sick minds who created the hyperactive Associação Terapêutica do Ruído (ATR), their siamese entity which is dedicated to promoting DIY concerts and releasing and distributing records, the dUASsEMIcOLCHEIASiNVERTIDAS (dSCi) are a collective of noise therapists based in Lisbon that have a curriculum almost as extensive and intense as their music: two EPs ("I" in 2008 and "II" in 2009), a tape (“SADITREVNiSAIEHCLOcIMEsSAUd“ in 2010), a LP (“4” in 2012), two split-tapes (“dSCi/Cangarra” in 2013 and “Chains Split Tape Vol. 2” in 2016), a single (“Poda/Enco” in 2018), a split-vinyl (“dSCi/Parpar split” in 2018), two live albums with their side project of electro-acoustic improvisationdOISsEMIcIRCUITOSiNVERTIDOS, participations in several compilations, countless european tours and hundreds of concerts in the most varied situations and places and with the most diverse groups and musicians, not to mention all the other projects to which they are or have been directly and indirectly linked during these years."

Their last production is a split vinyl with their friends PARPAR and I am attaching here their official press-release.

Associação Terapêutica do Ruído & A Besta present:

After having shared the stage on a number of occasions, including the recent Ñekñek Tour, the infamous dUASsEMIcOLCHEIASiNVERTIDAS (dSCi) and the intrepid PARPAR have just released a split album together!

Recorded in October last year by maestro Milo Gomberoff at his Hukot studio in Barcelona during dSCi's KsChNpSk Tour and PARPAR's Tuktuk Tour and mixed and mastered by the master himself during the following months, the album was released on vinyl on the 18th November at Feira de Vinil de Lisboa, a vinyl record fair that took place at Mercado de Santa Clara in Lisbon.

The record, whose artwork was done by Katafu (Krafica), includes 4 tracks from dSCi: the already well-experimented “Jean-Louis is not a crime”, “Glut” and "Dr. Músculo” (aka "Mr. Muscle", which features the special participation of Pedro Arelo from PARPAR) and the new "Benco", a full version of the B-side track of the single “Poda/Enco” released last January; and 3 tracks from PARPAR with guest André Calvário (aka Jorge) on the bass: new versions of “STOSTO” and “PAIPAI” and the brand new “HUKHUK”, which was made during this recording session (and which is the first improvisation of the duo with a third element).

The vinyl edition is a partnership between the collectives Associação Terapêutica do Ruído (ATR) and A Besta and the labels Epicericords (France), Et Mon Cul C'est Du Tofu? (France), Experimentáculo Records (Portugal), Gaffer Records (France), Lepers (Italy) and Panda Records (Thailand) and it can be ordered by mail through any of these labels (or found at some record stores and distros around the world). And the digital edition is available for free download through the Portuguese netlabel Enough Records (and also in the bandcamps of some of the labels involved on this joint release).
To complete this post I am going to attach here all the useful links about this amazing trio, they are often in tour therefore if it happens that they are in your town I recommend to go to see them live. Thanx to Joao and the rest of the gang for sending me all these info and their help.
Enjoy it.
