S-CORE-Pretension-(Staalplaat-Holland-1988)

Active since the mid of the eighties, japanese musician Yutaka Tanaka released his works under the name S-CORE. Early works are all cassette albums he put out on his own cassette label Afflict Records, many of those were recorded via mail collaboration with many sound artists from international underground scene, such as Stefano Biasin (Italy), Telepherique and Trigger B (Germany), Merzbow (Japan), Al Margolis/If, Bwana (USA), Rafael Flores (Spain).

Staalplaat is a label for sound artists: an organization network with a music label, an e-zine, a radioprogram, a shop, and a mail order and distribution company, now based in Berlin, Germany. The label was founded by Geert-Jan Hobijn and is famous for its Mort Aux Vaches series, which is a collaboration between Staalplaat and the national Dutch radio VPRO, in which the station provides the recording sessions and Staalplaat releases them in a limited edition.
Staalplaat has a long history of organizing events—in the 1980s it was the co-founder of a concert space called the NL Centre in Amsterdam. Here it organized concerts, partially released on tape in the NL-Documentatieserie series, which are denoted by the ST 00X catalog numbers. The letters ST come from Staaltape, as the label was called back then.
After being based in Amsterdam for many years, Staalplaat relocated to Berlin in 2004.[from discogs]

CONCUSSION-Concussion-(Self Released-UK-1997)

It appears that there are different bands with this name,mainly from the Usa.This is instead the HC punk combo from North London (UK).

They play a fast and furious metallic form of HC punk with female vocals.Very good introspective lyrics + good recording and a nice cover sleeve listing info,contacts and lyrics make this 4tracks demo a very good one.

The Real Brixton Challenge-(Newsletter-UK-Feb.1999)

Small zine written  and published by some squatters of the 121 center in Brixton(London-Uk)on the end of the 90s.They were also publishing South London Stress,an info-letter covering the gentrification of Brixton and various related matters.
In this  small zine you`ll find interesting articles about the changes of this lively South London area.

Very good compilation with lots of amazing artists form the 90s,some of them already featured on this blog.

The label seems to be managed by Jeremy Herron,Irish artist behind the project called Stone Body. I have posted two tapes by his personal project,you`ll find them here and here.

BRAINQUAKE-Thee Contamination Ov Thee Worlds Beyond Thee Stars-(Thee Disciples Ov Penumbra-Belgium-c60-1996)

Brainquake is the solo project of  Marc Ceulemans,also involved with Psych Krist Kastrator.Born 1970 in Belgium, productive hometaper released tracks on Thee Disciples Ov Penumbra, EE Tapes , Escape 3 Organisation, Red Neon Tapes, Klang Kontrol amongst others. 

In this excellent tape-work Marc offers us an exquisite selection of esoteric electronickx touching the death ambient and the mystical music of the last millennium.

Thee Disciples Ov Penumbra was his own label releasing mostly his own projects and  his close friends music.

I am going to attach here what Marc wrote to introduce this tape.

SOCKEYE-Rainbow Maxi Pad Hypokinetic Poop-(Joukkomurha Prods-Finland-199?)

I spoke already about Sockeye when I posted the tape Whimsical Butt...
They are active since the end of the 80s and releaed lots of tapes and 7inches.Their very personal lo -fi punk rock is crafted with weird and funny lyrics.
I am not sure if this tape was released by Joukkomurha Prods in Finland or if it was just distributed by this label in Europe.
Enjoy those 40 tunes of weird and lo-fi genius.
