WARFEAR- (Magazine-Bottomline Press-Usa-1992)

 Another fantastic art-work/pictures/collages magazine by the great John Yates.I wrote about him many times when I posted all the issues of  Punchline Magazine.

This one reminds me a lot the work done with Punchline-a punch in your face pictures with very straight messages!! As a 7inch size,it very much looks like a vinyl. It comes with a big poster and two postcards. All the relevant scans included in this folder.

To complete this introduction I add the editorial by John.I must write a BIG THANX to John, for giving me permission to post his excellent publications. This is unquestionably a classic of the underground press from the 90s. Enjoy it.

 Fantastic compilation in a box set with 3 7inches and amazing graphics. I wrote already about Allied Recordings, defunct hardcore label from San Francisco, California run by John Yates, a graphic designer whose work can be seen on many covers of punk and hardcore records, also known for Punchline, a graphic magazine with sociopolitical contents.I have, also already, posted many numbers of Punchline Magazine-fantastic paper with astonishing graphic works.

 

This triple 7 inch contains great bands and writings/graphics against war/sexism and racism.All the contents of the booklet are included here,I am inviting you to read it ...this is not only music but food for the brain. Enjoy it.

 "Smother Earth" is the title for the number 11 of this fantastic magazine, each number dedicated to a different subject, and this time it is about ecology. By now,the followers of this blog should know very well Punchline, in fact I have already posted all these: N9 "Time To Remove The Dust Sheets", the N10 "Censorship Of Fools", the  number 7.5"cop" the Number 5 "WARning" and The number 13 "Static Elect Trickery". plus N12 "Age Of Discover Up" and N14 Read Our Lips + N4 "Flags R Us" and the N6 "Politics".

PUNCHLINE-Read Our Lips-n14-(Magazine-USA-1993)

A fantastic issue of the legendary Punchline magazine,each number dedicated to a different subject.I have already posted the number 7.5"cop"the Number 5 "WARning" and The number 13 "Static Elect Trickery". plus N12 "Age Of Discover Up".

This is the number 14 "Read Our Lips", all dedicated to the subjects: sexism, machism, feminism and gender issues.

Created and assembled by John Yates-(I must give him a big thanx for giving me permission to post here those outstanding magazines)- and friends during the early 90s, in this issue excellent graphics works and a long article about alternative abortion methods. 
This is unquestionably a classic of the underground press from the 90s.

v.a.-Allied Recordings-Music For The Proletariat-(Allied Recordings-Usa-1993)

Allied Recordings was an  hardcore punk label from San Francisco, California- run by John Yates, a graphic designer whose work can be seen on many covers of punk and hardcore records, also known for Punchline, a graphic magazine with sociopolitical contents.

The graphix works in this cd are indeed by him !Amazing stuff. 

John called this cd " An Inevitable Compilation from Allied Recordings"-you`ll find here a very good selection of bands and tracks expressing ideas and sonics messages touching the post punk,the hardcore,the indie rock and much more with a personal touch,never going on the commericial music yet very joyful.

A great sampler for future generations of non-compromising jingles.

PUNCHLINE "Age Of Discover Up"- N12-(Magazine-Usa-1992)

Number 12 of this astonishing magazine,it came out in 1992,the year of the celebrations(or anti-celebrations) for the american continet`s discovery.

Of course an issue of Punchline had to be dedicated to the anti-celebrations.So,amazing graphix works and messages against the rape/destructions of the indigenus people/culture and other interesting related issues. For whover missed my other posts about this great magazine:this was the amazing magazine created and assembled  by John Yates-(I must give him a big thanx for giving me permission to post here those fantastic magazines)- and  friends during the early 90s.
