ABSURD N5- An Issue Of Absolute Nothingness-(Fanzine-Greece-2001)

Absurd was an all-English written fanzine from Athens (Greece) active in the early years of last decade. It does cover many aspects of the industrial music scene in Greece and beyond.

For industrial music scene here I mean almost all its subgenres and also difficult music in a broad sense.

The concept itself for editing and writing this issue  is quite genial and I prefer to leave the explanation to the editor :

This issue number 5 evolves into info about quite a few obscure, or less obscure music labels, musicians, gig organizers and music reviews.
In some ways, it looks more like a very useful bulletin with addresses and various info. 

Eventually, I feel this is a very great tool to research the lively international electronic deviated music scene of the early 2000s and at the same time a very nice example of the creative and passionate underground press.

Safe To Eat n5-(Mail Art Container-Poland+Global Networking-199?)

Number 5 of this mail art container published by Bartek Nowak mail artist who was also publishing  Karta zine and managing a mail art archive.

19 Mail Artists from various parts of the globe took part in this issue sending 20 artworks to be assembled in this mail art project/container.

Many great art-works, very different yet amazing.

WITCH n5-(Fanzine-Poland-2004)

A very good fanzine all in the English language although printed in Poland by a collective of women into riot girls/feminism, anarchism and music.

In this issue very interesting articles about anti-abortion laws in various countries, protests, riot girls around the world, Annie Sprinkles guideline for sex in the 90s, Karen Finley multi-cultural artist, Fuck Finger (band), an interview at the band CTB and other messages about gender-related subjects.

All in all a very good fanzine with amazing articles and a positive attitude.

Interesting fanzine focusing on politics, music and personal writings. 
All mashed up with punkish graphics and ideas.

Some letters, ideas about revolution and work, punk scene gossips, few b/w pics and more random rants.

Very entertaining.

SCRAWL N5-(Fanzine-N.Ireland-2001)

Small yet very interesting bulletin with some nice pictures, music reviews and a long article about "The War Of Information On The Battlefield Of Culture" very well worth reading.

All in all a solid bulletin with good viewpoints.

PUNKAMINAZIONE N5-(Fanzine/Bulletin-Italy-March 1985)

Punkaminazione was a bulletin of connection, communication, information and coordination assembled by groups, labels and collectives of the Italian punk scene in the early 80s.

A very similar experience was experimented in the early 90s and it was called La Lega dei Furiosi.

Punkaminazione was not a proper fanzine but a container of experiences shared by people with the same ideas and aims:anti-militarism, squatting, anarchism, punk music as political message.

In this issue we find contributions by different collectives and individuals from many places of the Italian boots:Bari, Aosta, Grosseto, Genova, Savona, Udine, Savona, Lecco, Macerata, Milano... and writings about pollution, green energy, squatting and evictions of social centers, riots, punk gigs.

This is a piece of history of the Italian Punk scene, only in Italian Language.

AMEN This Is Religgion N5 + F.A.R./RITMO TRIBALE Split Tape-(Fanzine+Tape-Amen Prod.-Italy-1987)

Here the fifth number of this legendary Italian fanzine focusing on industrial music, politics, arts and other interesting issues.In this number, a long article about Jenet, a discussion about university and politics, Nurse With Wound(the band), an interview to Coil, an article about depression,some poetries, few short stories, Test Dept interview and Joy Divison lyrics, Come Organisation and other great messages + astonishing graphic works.

This number came out with a split tape with two good acts:F.A.R.(Italian Industrial prime-movers, led by Mauro Guazzotti (later known as MGZ).and Ritmo Tribale (Italian Alternative Rock band from Milano formed in the mid 80's and disbanded around 2000.)

This is a classic of the Italian Industrial scene from the wonderful 80s.Do not miss it if you can read Italian language and if you don`t then you can always enjoy the music.

Shag Stamp n5-(Fanzine-D.I.Y.-UK-1994)

Number 5 of this  amazing fanzine,I posted already the Number 6.

This was the personal fanzine by Jane active in the punk scene in Sheffield.She was also managing a "zine-only" distro and printing other very cool stuff.In fact I also posted by her the art-zine Hickey.

In this issue Jane writes about different issues,some of them still very up to date:Feminism and Pornography,Stripping for money(and Art),Obscenity and  few other interesting articles.

Well done and with nice pics and graphix-works this is a classic of the underground press coming from the fabulous 90s.
