Sub-cut- Institucionalizado-(Self Released-Brasil-1999)

Sub-Cut is a  Brazilian grindcore band from Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, that was formed in 1995. 

This tape  has 9 tracks of violent HC punk mixed with ferocious grindcore, their political lyrics in Brasilian/Portuguese language are reported inside the folded cover sleeve.

A great tape for people into smashing rage.

v.a-‎SADOMACHINISM-(Misanthropic Agenda-USA-1999)‎

Great compilation assembling an astonishing number of powerful tunes by a bunch of fantastic artists playing noise, industrial, abstract and more weird electronics goings.
It was released in a limited edition of 500 copies in elaborate metal packaging. Aluminium shell sometimes embossed with the album title, sometimes not, it is sold out now.

 The American Misanthropic Agenda Experimental label was created in 1998 by the noise artist known as Gerritt. This amazing label is still alive and kicking and you can visit their well-done webpage here, where you can check their latest releases, catalogue and news.

LES PHOTONICS-Les Photonics-(Self Released-Italy-1999)

Les Photonics was a band from Caserta(Southern Italy) active on the end of the 90s, they were playing a nice form of garage psych-rock with a very 60`s sound touching the surf wave with a good dose of splashed old rock`n`roll.

They released also a  7 inch in 2001 on Psych-Out Records

Italian independent psychedelic garage punk label since 1995, based in Ostuni (Brindisi), run by Cosimo Pecere.

This tape is crafted with 8 very catchy tunes, well recorded and well played. The cover sleeve reports a few info and some pics.
A little obscure jewel for people into old school garage rock.

Bagger/Lieselotte–Bagger/Lieselotte-(Sorry Records-Switzerland-1999)

Amazing split vinyl with two Swiss bands from the crust punk scene of the last century. Bagger used to make performances with fire and masks while playing their furious HC punk. I think they were involved with the Schrottbar in Biel.

Lieselotte plays a violent form of grindcore mixed with HC punk...I spoke about them when I posted their Split tape with Pakita.

This record comes with an 8-page booklet with graphics and lyrics(all the relevant scans included here). 

A great vinyl for people into violent music with positive ideas and attitude.

Arcadia Party Flyers-(Graphic/Flyers-UK-1998/1999)

Here two flyers of the mighty Arcadia Parties held in 1998 and 1999. Arcadia was a very special fetish party supporting the Sexual Freedom Coalition.

I spoke about this organization already 2 times when I posted  Their annual Report 96/97 and Book Of Delights the booklet they were giving away at the people taking part in their Sex Maniac Ball in 2003.

The Sexual Freedom Coalition (SFC) is a pro-sex campaign organization and political pressure group based in the United Kingdom that challenges the laws which take away the sexual freedoms of consenting adults and also challenges the media and official bodies that show disrespect for sex.
The Sexual Freedom Coalition is a national UK voluntary organization whose aim is to campaign for sensible reform of Britain's antiquated and repressive laws concerning consensual sexual practice between consenting adults and ensure no new laws creep in to prevent consenting adults enjoying sexual freedom.
The Sexual Freedom Coalition was formed in April 1996 by a group of people who decided that sex clubs such as Whiplash should not be raided and the 10th Sex Maniac's Charity Ball should not have been stopped by the police, putting its charity at financial risk.
A march was organized starting in Soho and ending at 10 Downing Street where a petition "Sex Please We're British" was presented to the Prime Minister.
Since then, there have been many triumphs and the phrase "the sexual freedom of consenting adults" has become commonly used. The SFC is consulted by the Home Office and the press and is unique in the world. They have joined together with Outsiders and the Erotic Awards to hold conferences and events to allow campaigners to network and work together.

ARTE POSTAL Hacia El Nuevo Milenio-(Museo De Filatelia De Oaxaca-Mail Art Documentation-Mexico+Global Networking-1999)

Amazing documentation printed in off-set on glossy paper about this mail art project called Arte Postal Hacia El Nuevo Milenio, It was organized by The Philatelic Museum of Oaxaca that made an exhibition which lasted 3 months with a 3 days opening(16-18 December 1999) when there was also a performance by Clemente Padin Vs Gerardo Yepiz on the first day, a debate with various mail artists on the second day and an electroacoustic concert on the third day. 

The documentation has a good introduction about this project, an article about the mail art and one about the electroacoustic gig + a selection of art-works by international mail artists.

Very well done and with interesting articles and critics, this mail art document will make happy all the art postal aficionados.

TARKATAK/ANEMONE TUBE-Split-( Trümmer Kassetten-Transfixional Entertainment-Germany-1999)

A fantastic split CD by two German artists playing noise-ambient mixed with drone and esoteric electronicks.

Tarkatak is the project of the German artist Lurs Pruditsch; who also was running the interesting tape label called Trummer Kasseten during the mid-90s.  Tarkatak seems to be still active nowadays and has been collaborating with different artists during these years of activity: C.Reider, No, Anemone Tube, Deep, Klangwart.

 Anemone Tube is Stefan Hanser German Experimental Noise musician active since the 90s and also manager of the label Transfixional Entertaimnet.

 The audio works of Anemone Tube are a unique blend of dark ambient and industrial/noise music with a strong psychogenic impact. The use of constantly shifting and altering sounds and moods is possibly one of the most intriguing things about the audio creations of Anemone Tube.

Number 6 of this poetries-mail art fanzine/container released by Ov/Est Underground.

Their aim was to publish poetries translated into Russian/English and Italian...quite a remarkable effort, mixing poetry, visual poetry and mail art.

Many contributions from different sides of this globe, some of them really outstanding.

Open Up And Bleed-(Fanzine-UK-1999)

Old punk zine from London, active on the end of the 90s, it has these feelings of the new computer era...somehow making it a kind of retro and sweet.

The article about the CD-Rs and how to boycott the big labels with a simple pc+ a cd writer is rather obsolete.

As for the rest, you`ll find here some interesting thoughts about the scene in Northern Ireland in 1977

and lots of gigs reviews of the first wave of punk rock bands + zine and music reviews too.

DISGRACE-Last Laugh-(Self Released-Holland-1999)

There are probably a hundred bands with this name and making a research about it become complicated! This band was formed in Utrech (Holland) on the end of the 90s and this tape seems to be their only release! 

13 tracks of raw HC punk sung in English, the recording is kind of low-fi yet it suits very well their songs.

The first demo for this Italian trio playing a kind of pop form of new wave, good recording, few info + lyrics on the cover sleeve.

The songs are well played and arranged, and everything reminds me of some stuff from the 80s.

JOHN HOLMES-El Louso Suavo-(Flat Earth Records-UK-1999)

Another great band where Sned(Generic and One By One) plays drums.
Furious HC Punk with crusty edges and "straight into your face" lyrics roll over the whole cd.

Sned was also managing this awesome label, a few years back He opened his own blog where you can download all his label discography for free: Flat Earth Recs-The Archive Of Bloody Everything.

The Storming Of The City-(Comic-Leaflet-UK-1999)

An amazing and funny parody about the events happened on 18th June 1999 during a protest against capitalism that turned into a riot in the heart of  London.

It was called Carnival Against The Capital and A spoof version of the Evening Standard, daily London-based newspaper was produced. 30,000 copies were printed and distributed on June 17 and 18 to City workers. The cover resembled the layout of the actual newspaper and the inner pages contained agitprop and humor. The newspaper was handed out for free. The headline read 'Global Market Meltdown', followed by a spoof report of the collapse of the world's financial markets.^[2][3]

This small comic leaflet is only 4 A4 pages printed off-set in b/w.
Great drawings by Pete Loveday and a very funny text by Schnews.

STRATFORD MERCENARIES-Live-Demo 1-06/07.02.98-The Victoria Inn Derby 08.03.99-(Self Released-UK-1999)

This is the demo by legendary Stratford Mercenaries, a superband formed by Gary Buckley already involved with the band Dirt, Philip Barker involved also with The Buzzcocks/ Lack Of  Knowledge and Steve Ignorant of Crass.

On the side B of this tape we find a professional studio recording made in 1998 and the side A  offers us a good live recording of their gig at the Victoria Inn Derby in 1999.

Strange enough this tape is not listed on their actual webpage where you can check lots of good videos, discography, gig list and more interesting stuff.

Great compilation with a good selection of bands and tracks, this tape released by the Malaysian label Anak Liar in 1999. Licenced reissue of the cassette released in 1997 by Manifest Records (Indonesia).

Professional recordings,off-set printed cover sleeve and info makes this sampler a good one.

GABBA-Leave Stockholm-(Stigma Records-UK-1999)

Gabba is a London-based British tribute band performing ABBA songs in the stripped-down punk style of the Ramones, a style of pop punk they dubbed disco-punk and claim to have invented.^[1] They formed in 1996 and took their name in 1999. They have released three albums as of 2006.

 Gabba was informally formed in 1996^[2] by Stig Honda, alleged "professor at the Osaka Rock 'n' Roll High School", who enrolled five students from all over the world to fuse the disco pop of Abba and the punk rock of the Ramones, creating "disco-punk".
In 1999, the band took its name of "GABBA, The Discopunk Sensation". The name is an acrostic on the members' nicknames, echoing both the Ramones' "Gabba Gabba Hey" and the name of Abba.
Their second recording and official debut album, the CD Leave Stockholm (1999), was produced by Stigma Records (UK) and sub-distributed by Rough Trade Records.
According to a band statement [1], " [In 2001] GABBA release their complex 3rd album, the Spanish language "Tijuana Dance". However, the album was banned and withdrawn from sale after just 1 week for being "Anti-Establishment", due to some confusion over Bee Bee's appalling Spanish translations which inadvertently accused the Queen of England [sic] of being a Nazi Stormtrouper (in a stupor, no less). Etica Ascetica - Flyer For The Release :10 Years Anniversary Tape.(Italy/Greece-1999)

This is the flyer that E.A.---this ghost collective already covered many times in this blog--- released to promote its 10 years anniversary tape, a compilation of songs taken from the other tape-works released previously.It was compiled by Raff during the summer 1999 and then released by Iason on his cool label 1000+1 Tilt in Greece at the end of the same year.

Number 6 of this amazing fanzine,I already posted the number 7 released the same year in October and coming with the cd compilation number 2.
I also already  spoke about D.L.K. Zine  managed by  Marc Urselli-Schärer before He started to cooperate with Maurizio Pustianaz.
