CYNOSURE*93 - (Self Released - c90 -199?)

 Another mystery tape, this time from the collection of my friend Carsten Olbrich, musician and owner of the tape label Ebu`s Music, tape label  & mail-order established in 1988 and covered in this blog a few times. Carsten is still very active nowadays and you can read all the news and info on his actual webpage.

The music evolves in strange passages of electronic experimentation, touching the abstract, the industrial and somehow a hint of minimal techno. The recording is pretty good, yet the spartan cover sleeve reports no info, only the song titles. Anybody out there with some solid info about it? Carsten and I will be very happy to know more.

v.a.- Inseminazione - (Il Seme Prods-Italy-199?)

 Long compilation featuring many great Italian bands of the 90s political/antagonistic HC punk scene! A good selection of bands and songs make this tape-compilation a very nice one. Il Seme was a small label and distibution point from Northen Italy. Enjoy this fantastic sampler.

v.a.- Chaotic Grind Vol.2 - (Chaotic Grind-Poland-199?)

 Long, chaotic and raw compilation featuring old grind-punk bands from the early 90s. The various recordings are Ok-ish and the cover sleeve reports a few info and song-titles. Big thanks to Mark Terminus for this little gem of the lost and found underground world. Enjoy It.

v.a.-Nothing To Lose...But Our Chains...(ABC/Counter Information-UK-199?)

 

90 minutes cassette compilation with lots of bands from the political British underground scene of the last century. It was a benefit for the Counter Information paper. The various recordings are pretty good, and there is very little information on the folded cover sleeve.

 A compilation very much from that era mixing HC Punk, Dub, and generally anarcho-punk in its various forms. Big thanks to Mark Terminus for this little gem of the lost and found underground world.Enjoy It.

v.a. - BUAV Benefit - (Buav-UK-199?)

 BUAV stands for "British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection"! This extensive compilation tape features numerous bands active during the 1980s, primarily in the hardcore punk scene. It came out with a booklet, each band has a page containing lyrics, graphics and/or messages against vivisection. No date of release is stated anywhere, yet it is my understanding that it was released during the 90s. The quality of the recordings changes from song to song, as overall it is pretty good. Expect lots of HC punk in its various forms, some post-punk and Terminus playing some political folk songs. A big thanks to Mark Terminus for donating this great sampler to this blog. Enjoy it.

v.a. - On The Run!! 01 - (HSA- UK-199?)

 90 minutes compilation cassette benefit for Hunt Sabouters Association! A bunch of great bands  playing various form of punk. The tape is interspersed with talks about animal rights and/or against the bloody sports.Different kind of recordings but overall pretty good. Another good one from the collection of Mark Terminus.Big Thanks...Enjoy it.

NO ARMY - Senza Resa - (Disobedencia Distro-Mexico-199?)

 

I must admit that I don`t know much about this band,from the liner notes of the cover-sleeve I understand  that they were punk anarchists from Milano (Italy) and active on the end of the 90s.

This tape was printed and distributed  by the Mexican Disobedencia Distro- the folded cover sleeve reports the lyrics and info in Spanish language.

It includes their demo called Senza Resa and some live tracks from their 1997 tour.

The music is classic anarcho-punk and the recordings is kind of DIY,!

ABRAXAS - Skin Thrills - (Total-UK-199?)

  Fantastic CD by this UK-based act active in the early 90s. This album is made with various influences, passing through ritual, ambient, experimental electronics, abstract, industrial, and noise. It is all a mash-up yet crafted with grace and beauty.

Matching Head 7 (Small Zine-Matching Head-UK-199?)

Another small zine by Lee Stokoe, the mastermind behind Matching Head tape and zine label!! This is not the first micro zine that I post here by him and I covered this label quite a few times already.

9 cm x 3.5 cm this is a micro-zine with comics and drawigs by Lee himself is a kind of classic by his label.

A little pearl of the undeground indipendent zine world of the 90s.

 A small pamphlet by Fritz of  Resistance Productions. Different subjects proposed with his critical and interesting views. Food for brains from the last century yet still very up to date. Enjoy it.

DIVISION BY ZERO - (Self Released-USA-199?)

 Another great tape by this American band from from Blaine(USA).I have already posted their third tape "May Come As A Smooth Round Stone" and another one simply called "Divison By Zero" released in 1991. With a  spartan handwritten cover reporting only the song-titles, I hope that  I have indexed it properly. The only person to know would be Shawwano,who was playing in this band and spotted the other tapes that I have posted in 2014, leaving a few messages.

This cassette has a few talked tracks and their music consists of some electro punk with some industrial hints touching the noise,the avant-garde and the ambient music,only to turn again into some sort of messy noisy-electro.

I think there are no many copies of this one around...! Enjoy it.

A nice graphic/collage on A4 black and white xerox by the British duo T.U.O.B.!I posted their great tape released on the legendary Red Neon Tapes.

 

POST PRANDIALS - Learning By Osmosis-(Umbababayee Records-UK-c90-199?)

 Post Prandials  was a trio from Brooklyn, NYC playing a weird yet nice form of improvisation touching the free jazz, some avant-gard and abstract music,at times very experimental.

This album is a full 90 minutes cassette exploring sounds and noises as well as some sonic deranged jingles.

EB And The System-EB And The System-(Self Released-UK-199?)

 4 well recorded tracks on this self released cassette by this british band.I do not know much about them,they play a form of music very much famous in the 90s,mixing rock guitar riffs with rap and dub.Somehow reminds me a bit of Back To The Planet.

Frammenti-(Fanzine-Italy-199?)

 

A nice fanzine of  Visual Poetries and Graphic Art made mainly with cut-ups of newspapers and collages created by Fabio Rosso in Genova.All the cut-ups are in italian language. He sent me quite a few nice art-works,as extras(all included here).

Ras.Al.Ghul ‎– The Experimental Absorption Spectrum -(Tonspur Tapes -Germany-199?)

 

 

Ras.al.ghul born from the ashes of the electro-industrial group Croniamantal. This group started their activities in 1985 and the music was constructed aggressively obsessively, heavily linked with the industrial culture. 

Tonspur Tapes was a  German cassette label, run by Stefan Schwab, for experimental, industrial, and noise recordings.

v.a.-PREOKUPATE-(D.G.K.-Spain-199?)

Long compilaton on cassette created by a squatters group in Cadiz (South Spain).It was dedicated to the subject "Squatting" and it came out with a small booklet with articles about the abandoned houses in the city,the basic need for the homeless and the squatters rights.Many bands contributed to this sampler with various styles:punk,HC Punk,Crust ,Grind...

Dominator was a British project formed by Mick Holmes, Vince Millburn and Terry Harper, active during the 90s, they have released 3 CDs,1 7ch and 1 cassette.

DISAHOGO n4-(Fanzine-Argentina-199?)

This fanzine seems to be another production by Max Vadala. I spoke about him when I posted the split tapes Terror Y Miseria/Ruido E Ideas and Sovredocis/Sopa De Garron and the fantastic zine DF Dismadre.  
 In this blog, you`ll find info about Max graphic works and fanzines + @punk bands from Buenos Aires.

This issue is inspired by the dadaist movement and work, you`ll find some cool graphics, some comics, an article about the Chaos Day In Hannover and another one about how to grow up marijuana at home.

Short and funny, this is a nice little zine.

Only in the Spanish language.
