THE MOUTH N15-The Last Official Issue-(Fanzine,Poetry,Mail Art-Italy-1994)

The Mouth was a container for visual poetry, graphics works and poetries in various languages. It was created by Alberto Rizzi and Alessandro Ceccoto from the Mail Art Archive in Adria (Northern Italy).

 I have already posted the number Number 1 , the Number 2,3 and 14 

and  Number 13.

This is the last issue, inside its 64 pages contains contributions by various mail artists and poets from around the globe.

Pieces in English, others in Italian, one in Portuguese and one in french language.Lots of graphic works and visual poetries.

DAWSON-Terminal Island-(Trottel Records-Hungary-1994)

Another great album by this amazing Scottish band, I wrote already about them when I posted their album Cheese Market,

This is their last production infected as usual by fragmented guitar riffs, unconventional rhythms, weird vocals and lyrics, eclectic disjoined arrangements, avant-garde post-traumatic hardcore punk for the non-easy listening people. Bizarre and unique, a crazy miasma of sounds and ideas.

DAWSON-Cheese Market-(Gruff Wit Records/ The Making Of Americans-UK/USA-1994)

This is an enormous cd including the first 2 albums: "Barf Market : You're Ontae Plums" and  " How To Follow So That Others Will Willingly Lead (Oh My Godley And Creme Cheese)" by this amazing Glasgow based band active in the early 90s.

Compared to names such as Butthole Surfers and Minutemen, Dawson throws in their songs sheer violence and electric energy mixing some avant-guard fast chaotic guitars riffs, math rhythms, weird vocals and experimental jingles that make their music original and difficult to categorize.

Coming out from the very lively Noize Post Hardcore punk scene from the end of last century, they shared common interests and sweats with Stretchheads, Whirling Pig Dervish and  Archbishop Kebab, all very original bands hailing from Scotland.

v.a-Veromon-(Ant-Zen-Germany-c90-1994)

An old sampler of industrial,experimental electronics,avant-garde and early rhythmic noise released by the (now) famous Ant-Zen label.
It came out in a limited edition of 200 hand-numbered copies packaged inside a vinyl case, with a 40 page booklet & an insert-(not all the scans included here).

Ant-Zen Full name: Ant-Zen audio & visual arts.Selfpromoted as Industrial Music, Chilling Ambient, Technoid Rhythms & Power Electronics. Ant-Zen is deduced from "Anti Zensur" (= anti censorship).
Ant-Zen is the most important label in the newer German Industrial scene. It started in the early 90s as a tape label that later also released vinyl and cds. Mastermind S.Alt (Stefan Alt) also did most of the layouts and packaging of the releases. While the earlier releases are more into noise, the new output has a more technoid style that is still very experimental. Ant-Zen is also the German distributor of a lot of other labels and runs a small mailorder.

Mouldy Brain n9-(Fanzine-Italy-1994)

Number 9 of this Italian fanzine, I have already posted the number 10.

Mouldy Brain was focused on gothic subjects: nightmares, poetries, horror movies, monsters, and the like.

This issue is dedicated to the subject: serial killers.

With a nice graphic layout and quite a few interesting articles about various crazy murders, this zine is pretty cool.

HOCICO-Autoagresion Persistente-(Self Released-Mexico-1994)

The Mexican group Hocico was officially formed in 1993 by Erk Aicrag (lyrics & vocals) and Racso Agroyam (synthesizer, programming). 
The names are anonymous of the real names Erik Garcia and Oscar Mayorga. Both cousins had been experimenting with electronic music, mixing Industrial and EBM, since they were fifteen years old and formed a band in 1992 called Hocico de Perro. The first live gig of Hocico was on February 18, 1994. Their music can be described as dark and aggressive electro-industrial. Their lyrics are mostly English although some songs are in Spanish.
The Spanish word 'hocico' means snout and is a derogatory term that indicates ugliness (i.e., ugly as a dog's snout).(from Discogs)

v.a.-PARAPHYSICAL CYBERTRONICS Vol I-(Praxis-UK-1994)

Astonishing compilation cd with great acts playing some brilliant and sublime forms of ambient, industrial, techno, ancient rhythmic noise and bizarre frazzled weird goings. 

Praxis is a label and record shop for harsh experimental electronic music led by Christoph Fringeli based in Berlin (first located in London/UK, then in Berlin/Germany, then in Basel/Switzerland, now again in Berlin/Germany), its official webpage is here.

ULICA-Ulica-(Nikt Nic Nie Wie-Poland-1994)

Great album by this HC punk band called Ulica and active in the early 90s.16 tracks of pure personal HC punk mixing politics and melodies, anger and poetry...

This is really a fantastic album by a special band.

The cover sleeve reports the polish lyrics with English translations + various info.

Nikt Nic Nie Wie releases records and tapes since 1989. Non-mainstream music, mainly d.i.y. hardcore punk stuff promoting an alternative lifestyle and not just a fashion. Also mail-order with hundreds of records, tapes, zines, books, shirts, patches.

v.a.-Okupa E Preocupa-(Confronto + Olhos De Raiva-Portugal-1994)

Eclectic and obscure compilation tape edited by those two unknown Portuguese labels Confronto and Olhos De Raiva in 1994. 

10 bands from different countries playing HC punk, folk punk, dub and punk rock mostly with political lyrics.

The title of this sampler is obviously referred at the squatting politics of the last millennium.

The cover sleeve reports only the song-titles and the overall quality of the recordings is pretty good.

MAUSER FK-The Movie-(Vögelspin Records-Holland-1994)

A fantastic album by this great jazzcore band from Holland active in the early 90s.I spoke about them when I posted their great cassette: White Man`s Overbite which they self-released in 1992.

This album instead came out on Vögelspin Records: Dutch punk label, founded in 1979 by Nitwitz to release their first record Nitwitz - Nitwitz on their own label. Located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Holland).

 Yet another great band from the Netherlands (Amsterdam) that was directly influenced by Victims Family (like Jam Jar or BEP) and that released this one and only album, a jewel in Jazzcore to make it simple. They played around Europe in the 1993-96 years, even had tour dates in France with Victims Family and one can feel other slight touches in the likes of NoMeansNo or Rhythm Pigs and more when listening to their wicked tunes. We're talking Hit-Tunes here, of course. Line-up: Vocals: Hank. Bass-vocals: Dick. Guitar: Joeri. Drums: Marcel (aka Marzel ex-BGK, Nitwitz and now playing in Norton)
