Fantastic compilation edited and released by the Spanish Munster Records in 1997. It was a Cd given away free with the Spanish magazine Factory No.16.  24 Bands with explosive songs playing a great mix of garage rock, psychadelic rock, rockabilly, hard rock, surf`n roll and more old school rock n` roll. THE PETRIFIEDS - Warning!Monsters -(P.A.I.N. Recs-Italy-1997)

Another band in which the Mail Artists Mario Aquilino was involved after the experience with the amazing The Neolithics.

This band plays a form of lo-fi instro horror surf trash`n`roll with the sound of the 50s. This 7ich was half recorded in the practise room of the Ex CIM Okkupato in Foggia with a 4-tracks recorded and half of with a cheapo walkman mono at "4th Beat Festival" 22/06/1996 Castel S. Giovanni (Piacenza). 300 copies back in 1997...hard to find nowadays. Enjoy it.

INCONTRAMIAMOCI - (Fanzine-Italy-1997)

 Amazing graphix+poetries fanzine made with love and passion by Sergio,who was running Apnea distro and Katia, who was the headmaster of the zine La Banda dei Balordi. In this joint effort they work on some fantastic graphix connected with ideas/messages...the final result is a mix of emotions on paper with ink:very nice ideed! In Italian language ,only.

KATHODE/VOIDD - Split 7inch -(MCR Company-Japan-1997)

 Another 7inch by the very prolific Japanese label MCR company.This time with kathode from USA and Voidd from Japan, both bands playing a raw form of metallic crust punk. It came out with an insert reporting lyrics and info. 1000 copies were pressed back in 1997. Enjoy it.

Crocodileskink / Força Macabra - Crocodileskink / Thrashcore E.P. - (DIY Records-Japan-1997)

 Legendary split EP with  Crocodileskink from Japan and Força Macabra from Finland. The music is crust as fuck with anarco lyrics. The label is the famous Japanese D.i.Y. Records  owned by Ryuji Asada of Battle Of Disarm. You find these tracks as waves. Enjoy it.

Fold-out paper sleeve with lyrics inside. It includes two inserts: one with Força Macabra's lyrics translated into English and Japanese, and one with Crocodileskink's lyrics translated into Japanese. Crucificados Pelo Sistema is a cover of a Ratos De Porao song.

NOSTRADAMUS - Earthlights - (Shadow Records-USA-1997)

 Nostramus' debut, EARTHLIGHTS, kicks off with the dub'n'bass of "Babel," which at one time was called jungle (you can hear more of it on "Live 'n' Direc'"). "Let's Fuck It Up" is much lighter on its feet, though it's not afraid of the bass one bit, while the vocals on "Dark Jewel" go much more in the R&B direction. The title track zips into outer space momentarily, but the ethnic rumble that starts "Mystic Drum And Space" brings us back down to earth quickly. There's some atmospheric d'n'b on "Flashbacks," as well as the spry bumps of "A Force As Yet Unknown." But the real gem on this album is "The Oohs," which takes a single vocal sample and makes it almost drifts over the beats. It does take a darker turn, of course, but it retains its sense of wonder.  Fantastic sampler released by the legendary Blu Bus, promoting a great selction of bands active on this label. 23 tracks ,19 bands playing their style of  HC Punk  and angry fast music. Enjoy it.

REVOLVER- Chi Sono I Veri Mostri ?! - (Ogiva Records-Italy-1997)

 There are thousands of band using this name,this one is the rock band from Milano active on the end of the 90s!! They released a CD in 1998 called "E` Difficile Bere Sangue Quando Non Lo Vendono"!!

 This tape was released one year before the CD and it has a colour cover including lyrics, info and pictures. 8 well-recorded tracks of hard rock sung in Italian. Enjoy it.

 Up Against was a band from Montrel (Canada) active at end of the 90s. This 7 inch has 4 fast and violent HC Punk tracks, the folded cover sleeve reports pictures, lyrics and info.Drunk Records was a small DIY label from Montreal (Canada),probably managed by the band. Eventually I left these tracks as waves .Up The Punx !

STARFISH POOL - Remixed - (Silver Recordings-Belgium-1997)

 The electronic project of Koen Lybaert - that evolved out of Starfish Enterprises - that was active between 1993 and 2003. Starfish Pool was working in the experimental area of minimal, rhythmic, ambient and noise in all its aspects. Since the very start it is the manipulation of loops - the basic idea of the way tracks were created as Starfish Pool. This concept that has nothing to do with the sound but more with the way that tracks where practically made. In 10 years' time Starfish Pool had more than 25 releases.

KISS OF DEATH - LIes - (Naumana Prodisc-Italy-1997)

 Kiss Of Death was an Italian Thrash Metal band from Lecce, Apulia. Formed in 1994.Now defunct! This production came out both as tape and CD released by the ,now inactive, Naumana Prodisc. The cover sleeve reports info and lyrics,the recording is very good. Thrash `Till You Drop!

HERSTORY presents These Are Some Fears And This Is The Wisdom-(EEL Records-UK-1997)

Another mystery CD here, and I can`t remember how it ended up in my collection. Internet doesn`t seem very helpful in getting info about it. 

The music and lyrics are definitely anarcho-punk, reminding me of some classics coming from Crass records!  8 songs written by L.A. Whitfield yet no words about the musicians involved in this project, all the lyrics are listed in the folded cover sleeve, maybe this is all played by Whitfield with a programmed drum machine, there are a few words on the cover sleeve yet this cd remains in a cloud of mystery. Is anybody out there with more info about it, this label and more?? Enjoy it.

Reptilian Recors: US label, began in 1989 as an underground music shop in Baltimore, MD.

In 1993, Reptilian took the next logical evolutionary step and began releasing records. Starting with local bands and then searching out both unheard and established bands nationwide, Reptilian has released a diverse catalog of punk rock, metal, noise rock, hardcore, grind, indie rock, and random strangeness. Several sub-labels and partnerships developed - Adversary Recordings, Complete Distort, and Empirical Recordings - as well as a publishing house - Scapegoat Publishing.

Reptilian Records has shed it's skin, closing the local Baltimore shop in 2009 but continuing to release music on the label, now based in Philadelphia, PA.     click me
