SIVULLINEN Newsletter 2/97-(Sivullinen-Finland-1997)

Sivullinen was a newsletter edited by Jouni Waarakangas in Helsinki(Finland)!!!Jouni was printing in it everything that was coming out from the underground world.This newsletter had no borders!!! 

We could find in its: news about zines, comics, tape labels, mail art, anarchist newspapers, poetries, short stories, experimental music, adverts for future compilation tapes, flyers of bands and their productions, mail art projects and whatever was related to all those subjects.

The graphics layout was messy and at the same time funny on one A6 size folded page or more pages.
It was printed 4 times at year in a print run of 1000 copies and it was free although a donation of stamps would have been always very appreciated.Jouni was into trading zines and cassette productions!!
Sivullinen was also a great fanzine created by Jouni and I have already posted few numbers as well as a couple of issues of this newsletter, you`ll find it all here.

COSMONAUTS HAIL SATAN-Crazy Subjugated Astronauts-(Joukkomurha Products-Finland-c90-1993-)

Cosmonauts Hail Satan plays a weird hyperdistort slow punk on a base of hypnotic minimal rhythms,cut ups,loops and field recordings creating a perfect soundtrack for your best nightmares.

As far as I know Pig Havok was playing with them,he was also involved in Lizgizzad,Pleasant Valley Children and Bugeyed.

I passed this tape to Radiomoltov blog  5 years ago,that link is dead now so I re-post it here,yet it `s not the same rip,I realized that one was not done properly so I re-edited it.

I already posted one tape by this great band,go here to check that post. 

No need to write about Joukkomurha Products,in fact I posted lots of stuff by this Finnish label.

EPA NYYRO-Rock`n`Roll Years 1981-1991-(Joukkohourma Prods-Finland-c90-1992)

28 songs on this long c90 exploring 10 years of  life of this unknown band from Finland.The title of the cassette talk about Rock`n`Roll : It is definitely a little joke,in fact the music here it  is a sick form of weird experiments with normal instruments played in a funny yet chaotic way.On the top of it you`ll get screams yelled with  deranged vocals,and it`is only a pity that every song is sung in Finnish language,so I have no idea what are the subjects of those crazy songs.Every now and again their music change for something a bit more conventional but the change last very short time.
Beside having few little troubles trying to explain you the music of this project or band and knowing that they were active in the 80s in Finland,Epa Nyyro remains a mystery to me:
Anybody with more info about them out there???

Joukkomurha Prods(Engl. Mass Murder or Massacre) was a small label managed by Jupe Luoma in Vaasa(Finland).The title of the label was later watered down to a more neutral-sounding (maybe even a wee bit more) JM-Tapes.The label was originally started just for fun, as a continuation to the creative stream of small press activity and it was active producing the plethora of cassette-only albums (or albums, as John Bartles would put it!) and compilations of folk / punk / electronic / aggressive / art music(k) and odd bits of sound all the way from Ohio to Okinawa.It was in action between 1989 and 1998. In total, there were more than 70 releases during that time of angst, madness and creativity,and yes there are lot of other releases by this label on this blog...

ARSE-Greatest Hits-(Joukkomurha Products-Finland-c90-1992)

This tape with a live low-fi recording and brutal vocals will make happy all the grindcore and violent music fans.

Not much info about them, there are quite a few notes on the folded cover sleeve but only in Finnish language.

The label is the famous Joukkomurha managed by Jupe Luoma in the 90s, label already covered in this blog a few times now.

SIVULLINEN Zine n14 + N15 (Winter and Summer 1993-Finland)

 I wrote about  Sivullinen International Newsletter.
Those ones instead are 2 issues of the fanzine with the same name,published  by Jouni Waarakangas in Helsinki(Finland)!!!
Jouni was collecting artworks from different artists around the world and printing this beautiful zines in a print-run of 1000 copies.
Those 2 numbers are packed with black and white art-works,graphix,drawings,strange poems,weird comics,poetries and more random thoughts.
This is a classic from the underground press of the 90s and  if you are into zines then you should not miss those ones.
Very good and funny, those zines are really priceless.

M.NOMIZED & I.Q.C.M. - L`Univers Moignon Valvule - (c60-Joukkomurha Tapes-Finalnd-1994)

Another tape by M. Nomized,artist already covered in this blog when I posted the bands The Golozos,No Unauthorized and the tape Voyage.
This tape is instead a collaboration between M Nomized and the Spanish artist I.Q.C.M.,who is Rafael Gonzales.He also used his real name for other productions and made few collaborations with the French artist back in the 90s.
Joukkomurha tapes was  a small Finnish tape label active in the 90s  producing different kind of music ranging from experimental electronic and noise to grindcore and beyond.
