Therabaqud Leic ‎– Theatragrammadhon-(Clockwork Tapes-Germany-1992)

Another great cassette by this Italian artist already covered in this blog a few times. This is the project of Gianlugi Russolo, also involved in Subliminale, TV Satanico, S. Biasin Trio.
With Theatragrammadhon Gianluigi offers to us 2 tracks of post-industrial esoteric ambient noise touching some drone, some pagan messages, and some ethereal hypnotic music.
Clockwork Tapes was a  independent label founded in the in 80's and resurrected in 2011 as a CD-Label, with a focus on Harsh Noise, Dark Noise, Ambient, and Minimal Music. Its actual webpage is here.
Enjoy it.

ALVARS ORKESTER-Woodtrip-(SPH-Portugal-1992)

Alvars Orkester is the Swedish project by Jan Svensson and  Joachim Nordwall, both musicians involved in various labels and projects since the end of the 80s.
SPH was a  tape label from Portugal, created by Fernando Cerqueira (a member of Ras.Al.Ghul) and featured a wide range of work from artists like Brume, Alvars Orkester and Maeror Tri.
Here a review originally published on Soft Watch and then re-published on the Discogs page dedicated to this tape.
Enjoy it.

Side A opens with the title track "Woodtrip". Waves of warm, muted sound sweep in, suggesting heat or isolation, The sound gradually builds, the waves flowing across each other in complementary washes, some deep and resonant, some higher-yet-dulled to give an overall pacifying effect. There is no beat, no rhythmic structure, merely wave-upon-wave of swelling sound. This night be described as New Age Industrial - it's a warm factory/machine sound. The depth of sound abates, leaving the higher tones to describe languid shapes and textures ethereal mists hiding unknown things - the thrill of possible danger coupled with an overall sense of security. "Dance In Halfway Under The Earth" swells in on darker, more Industrial sounds, and the higher pitches give it a desolate, isolated sound once more. Feedback flows through the sound, deep and rich, yet full of potential power, an understated threat that it could at any second smash through your speakers like a bolt of electric blue. These sounds follow each other, complementing each other despite their unusual qualities. It's a long & frankly wonderful piece of sound, reminding me of the little I've heard from ARCANE DEVICE.

Side B opens with "Ihn", rising on warm, even hot electronics a little like THROBBING GRISTLE did with their Industrial Introduction, although this is by far a less threatening, longer piece, twisting & turning through it's limited vocab. The machine sound loses it's subtlety, speaking in angry tones only other machines might comprehend. "Bhaktivizew" follows this, being the first of 4 tracks from 1988. A deep synthetic sound over which a continual patter of sound is heard. A noise penetrates & the whole structure concludes. "Amseeeer" has a basement of synthetic sound over which old dancehall music is played. This fades away & other synth noises, following neither tune nor rhythm puncture the sound, scrawling various images across it. "Teri" fades in on dark sounds, a little like some dark & potentially evil film soundtrack, "Quas" is a strange little thing, a rattling, muffled piece, very brief and hard to describe. Suffice to say it's a jumbled sound. "Lighthouse Service" concludes the album, returning us to the present - this is a 1992 piece. It swells & sprawls in warm shapes & textures, while a higher-pitched-but-distant sound flies across the entire swelling structure. It seems akin to DAVID MYERS' feedback music, and actually grows near a sort of ambient organ music (if there could be such a thing). A calming, warming sound with a strong, darker side to it.

To conclude, the closest comparisons I can come to are those mentioned above, especiallyARCANE DEVICE. If you are into MYERS music, then this is ,without doubt the cassette for you.

KLEG-Zing-(Barooni-Holland-1992)

Kleg (1984-1995) was an art-rock ensemble from Groningen, the Netherlands. Influenced by Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham.
Kleg recorded two albums: #15 'Eating and Sleeping' and Zing.
#15 was a 50-minute suite.
Zing had a more conventional rock-feel and was produced by Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth. Both albums are out of print.
4 unreleased tracks from 1995 were made public in 2014 via their Bandcamp page.
Recorded at Studio 20 (Tienen, Belgium) at August 19th & 20th and September 2nd till 4th 1991. Issued in a 4-panel Digipak with white tray, manufactured by Van de Steeg, Holland under license from AGI, USA.
Some copies with a sticker on front: "Produced by Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) / mixed by Luc Van Acker (Revolting Cocks)"
All the info is taken from Discogs.
To complete this post I am here attaching a great video with a track from this album, here the info from that Youtube Channel:
"A video for the song Diamanda by KLEG. (Yes, this is the stereo version) Diamanda was a track from KLEG's second album ZING, which was recorded in aug./sept. 1992 in Studio 20 in Tienen (Belgium) by Luc van Acker (engineering) and Lee Ranaldo (production). The video was made in the winter of 1993 by VPRO TV for their show TV Nomaden, a weekly experimental show that was on Dutch national TV between 1992 and 1995. The video was filmed in KLEG's hometown Groningen, but I can not recall where that nomad`s land was. In fact, I only remember it was a fuckin' cold afternoon! Diamanda was named after Diamanda LaBerge Dramm who was born in the month we wrote that track. This Diamanda LaBerge Dramm: http://youtu.be/NcF7VwpKhEA More vintage music by KLEG at https://kleg.bandcamp.com/ https://soundcloud.com/kleg"

v.a.-NO LEGAL MURDER-(Contaminated Productions-c90-Italy-1992)

Production number 11 by this small Italian label covered in this blog many times now. Music-wise it is a very eclectic mix of bands and tracks exploring various music genres: hardcore punk, industrial, crazy electronics, ska, stoner rock, ragga, crust punk, garage rock, and more hybrids of this kind.
Eventually, to complete this post I am attaching here the introduction for this amazing compilation.

Kryptästhesie-Shaken At The Sun-(Double Vinyl-Menhir Records-Italy-1992)

KRYPTÄSTHESIE was a band from Lecco(Northern Italy) active from 1987 till 1997, they were playing their idiosyncratic form of psychedelic rock mixing some new wave, rock anthems, acoustic melodies and other fluid passages of creativity. Definitely, a band that has its own personality and never wanted to sell its soul for the commercial music industry.

Somehow there is in this disc a pure Syd Barret spirit yet they have their own energy making their music a voyage to the centre of not adulterate fantasy

To complete this post I am attaching  a great live video.

Enjoy this rather obscure masterpiece of psych-rock.

Networker Congress T-Shirt-(Mail Art/Graphic Art-Italy-1992)

This is the flyer publicizing the commemorative T-shirt for the Italian Chapter of the Congress conceived by Vittore Baroni with a graphic work by the amazing Gianluca Lerici aka Professor Bad Trip for the  Decentralized World-Wide Networker Congress 1992.
For whoever doesn't know much about this Network Congress held in 1992 in various places in this planet, here few lines:

"The Decentralized Networker Congress of 1992, Initially conceived by Networker H.R. Fricker,

and coordinated by Peter W. Kaufman eventually involved over 500 artists from 25 countries and over 250 events.

The original text is as follows :

Decentralized World-Wide Networker Congress 1992 (NC92)

Where two or more artists/networkers meet in the course of 1992,  a congress will take place
. The Decentralized World-Wide Networker Congress will serve as a
meeting point for all kinds of networkers. The meaning of the common

role as networkers should be the focus of the discussion.

As Networking options have expanded since 1992, and with the variety of media available to us now, we seek to expand this concept, and while honoring Mailart and face to face meeting, we are looking for all kinds of manifestations. Along with H.R. Fricker, the Congresses originator, and our Honorary organizer, we look forward to a re-energizing of these concepts, and expanded interactions within the network.

During the days of November 2, 3, and 4, 2012  Exhibitions will take place in 6 locations, in 6 distinctly different time zones.

Galleries in Cornwall ( UK ), Odzaci ( Serbia ), Ponte Nossa (Italy), and Roanoke ( USA ) will host these exhibitions as well as serve as Downloading sites and Documentation centers, with abilities to Interact with performing Networkers through Skype and Secondlife.  Performances and activities will be  streamed live from all 6 locations using Bambuser and/or Livestream.  Please send Mailart, documentation of Congresses, texts, collages, rants, postcards, poems, add and pass sheets,  mythologies, videos, slogans, photographs, diaries, artifacts, envelopes, address lists, cassettes..."

DSIP-Camarousal-(Irre Tapes-c60-Germany-1992)

Another astonishing tape by this amazing duo, I wrote about them many times on this blog.
Dsip is Dieter Mauson+Siegmar Fricke  researching on sleep & dreams states, ambient hypnotic sounds in great German electronic tradition.
This project was founded in 1989 and active until summer 1994.
After almost 20 years of hiatus they re-formed in 2013,this is their actual soundcloud page.
Also, this label is been covered many times here, it was run by Matthias Lang which evolved out of the IRRE Fanzine he published regularly during the early 1980's covering New Wave, Post Punk, and the German Underground.
Enjoy it.
