GRIM MACHINE-Decay-(Concrete Noise-Greece-Mini Cdr-2013)+Still Lives-(Concrete Noise-Greece-Mini Cdr-2013)+Ancient Future(M/Stick-Not On Label)+ Heterodoxa-Une Totale Midnight Chamber Music-(E.D.A./E.T.C. Tapes-Greece-2017)

Grim Machine is a solo project by Alex M. (The Zyklons, Black Faun)
through found/modified instruments and homemade/readymade sounds it deals with noise and improvisation as machinery made to attack reality, more or less, a useless skronk of freedom.
I swapped a few emails with Alexander, the headmaster of this project, He kindly wrote a biography based on his releases.

"Grim Machine started 2013 as an HNW experimental project dealing with noise as a way of protest in music, an anti-silence statement, opposed to the cultural and moral deprivation that occurred during the worst years of Financial Depression in Greece. Also, it was –and still remains- a political entity, anti-fascist, anti-capitalist and supporting the DIY ethos. The name is a metaphor for the human condition, the man seen as emotive machinery overwhelmed by negative feelings. The first releases were self-made cd-rs, hand painted or printed and distributed hand by hand in DIY concerts, squats and counter culture spaces. Decay and Still Lives are the documentation of that period, existential and strongly political in nature, made from urban sounds loops, broken toy instruments, and noise generators.

 
Along with those came the Ancient Future USB memory stick that included 3 digital mini albums and a folder of GM’s art inspired by rock drawings, prehistoric art, and Art Brut.
In 2016 GM cooperated with EDA/ECT TAPES label in Athens, sharing ideas, organizing gigs and forming a coherent circle of like-minded artists. Heterodoxa is the first tape release on ECT label, mixing a wide range of diverse references such as sound poetry, industrial noise, children’s music, circuit bending, the Dogon Nommo mythology, and tribal fetishism. B side Une Totale Midnight Chamber Music is a live recording from Villa Zwgrafou squat in Athens shortly before it was evacuated, and the title is a schizophrenic homage to three of GM’s beloved artists, Ghedalia Tazartes, SPK, and Violent Onsen Geisha."

I have written about Marco Corbelli many times, therefore I believe He needs no introduction on this blog.This sampler offers us many great artists in the field of noise, and death industrial.

"Atrax Morgue was Italian noise musician Marco Corbelli (April 3, 1970 – May 6, 2007). Many of Atrax Morgue's early material was released on cassette, as part of the industrial/noise 'cassette underground' of the early 1990s. Often these cassettes were released on Corbelli's own Slaughter Productions label, some of which have now been reissued on CD-R. Throughout the late '90s, Atrax Morgue released numerous CDs on prominent noise labels, such as Self Abuse Records, Release, Old Europa Cafe, RRRecords, Crowd Control Activities and Ars Benevola Mater.
Corbelli committed suicide by hanging on May 6, 2007. He was 37. He had always had a vocal fondness for and interest in death."

This tribute compilation was previously released on marcocorbellitribute.com and marcocorbellitribute.tk in January 2008. Since then, the domains under which it was released were abandoned, along with the compilation itself.
10 years later, on May 6th 2017, along with all the participants we managed to track down, we believe that this tribute should be available again.

EMILBUS LAINOMEREC EBYCOLISP-Sudor Espontaneo De Zopilote-(Self Released-Costa Rica-2017)

Here an unreleased tape by this amazing project from Alajuela (Costa Rica).

In this self-released cassette, E.L.E. plays sonic collages, industrial music and esoteric electronickx mixing messages of anti-art, protest and ritualism against this rotten society.

It was recorded during various sessions in 2015/2016 eventually re-elaborated and edited in 2017.

ERDIG-Hiob-(Self Released-Sweden-2017)

Here the cassette by this new and interesting project hailing from  Umeå, Sweden!Hand-numbered and limited to 20 copies this tape comes with an on-tape-only version of "Wer will Gott lehren, der auch die Hohen richtet?". Other tracks are slightly dubbed and mixed to fit the tape length.3 different cover sleeves available.

Music for forgotten chambers, meditative sequences, and minimal passages circle us in world of mistery and magical aura. Here a note from the Olof, the musician who recorded this astonishing tape on the 20th of June 2017.

"Erdig" is one of my side projects. "Digre" is my main act. Erdig is Dungeon Noise or Dungeon Synth with noisier parts. I make the melodies with my keyboard and computer and record it to cassette tape. Then I go out and record nature or town noises on my portable tape recorder. When I have all the material I want I go into the studio and mix it all together by overdubbing or through my porta-studio. The album/tape caller "Hiob" are mixed only through overdubbing. It is when I have two cassette players connected to a mixer and records it all to a third tape. then if I want to add a new layer I just run it all over again through that same setup. When I do music for my main projcect (digre.bandcamp.com) I use cleaner sounds and never mix like that. I make that all inside the computer like chiptune with famitracker. but with Erdig I make it much more dirty with field recordings and reverb and effects like that, analog and cable-tricks and all that. Erdig is German and translates to "earthy" or maybe "earth like" and while "Digre" is made to be heavenly Erdig is made to be more earthy and the themes are prophets of the Old Testament. I am working on Jonah for my next Erdig-tape. And Hiob is german for Job. From the Book of Job,"

1000 Posts-End of the broadcast?(Words-2017)

This post is the number 1000,when I started this blog I had gut feelings that I wouldn`t have reached  this number.I was wrong!Now I think that this is a turning point.I will probably spend less time working on this blog.It is been a long ride with some mistakes,some good feedbacks and lots of fun,some friends did help me and to them goes all my gratitude.

I guess I should write more but I leave this to you after all some people will read this and have a word to say,maybe?
