WAR/SYSTEM-No Gods At All - (Self Released-UK-200?)

6 tracks of fast and grinding HC punk with political lyrics by this british combo active around 2007/2011, and I am not sure if they are still playing. A Discogs page about them is  here yet this CD-r is not listed there.

Enjoy it.

TOO DUMB TO DIE-Too Dumb To Die-(Self Released-UK(?)-2008)

Another mystery CD-r out of my messy collection and I do not remember at all, how and when I got it.Too Dumb To Die in this cd is a trio playing famous and less famous jazz tunes.

Jimbino Vegan:Clarinet ,Johnny:Contrabass and Trinlemba:guitar and vocals performed amazing cover songs spanning various countries and ages. There are very few info about the trio and the tunes included yet a blog of reference called Jazz Workers talks about the band`s adventures  travelling and busking in China and Japan in 2007, therefore before recording this CD-r. Quite a few funny stories on that blog ...

If you have other info about this trio, please leave a comment,I`d love to know more.

Enjoy it.

DJINN-Katharos-(Slaugther Productions-Italy-2002)

Djinn project was founded by Vintras in 1999, as an act of detachment from one's social life and the pathetic rules which it can invite. Sounds reflecting into the vision of their creation of a world inhabited by his own assassins. The only solution to already too widespread illness. Silence and loneliness, the only sources of survival. Suicide, the emergency door for a few people. The first steps of Djinn are named "Ritual". They take shape in a 5 tracks demo tape. Between 2001-2002 Vintras is noticed by Marco Corbelli alias Atrax Morgue, who ultimately funded his first chapter entitled, "Katharos", under his label (Slaughter Productions). In 2002 Vintras self-produces a 3" mini cd called "Multiple Personality Distorted" containing 3 tracks. In 2003 he gives to birth the second chapter "Technological Death" still under Slaughter Productions. In 2004 the third chapter turned out to be prophetic with the title "Goodbye" closing the collaboration with Slaughter. For the first time, it includes a cover of a project that Vintras always appreciated.

GRIM MACHINE-Decay-(Concrete Noise-Greece-Mini Cdr-2013)+Still Lives-(Concrete Noise-Greece-Mini Cdr-2013)+Ancient Future(M/Stick-Not On Label)+ Heterodoxa-Une Totale Midnight Chamber Music-(E.D.A./E.T.C. Tapes-Greece-2017)

Grim Machine is a solo project by Alex M. (The Zyklons, Black Faun)
through found/modified instruments and homemade/readymade sounds it deals with noise and improvisation as machinery made to attack reality, more or less, a useless skronk of freedom.

I swapped a few emails with Alexander, the headmaster of this project, He kindly wrote a biography based on his releases.

"Grim Machine started 2013 as an HNW experimental project dealing with noise as a way of protest in music, an anti-silence statement, opposed to the cultural and moral deprivation that occurred during the worst years of Financial Depression in Greece. Also, it was –and still remains- a political entity, anti-fascist, anti-capitalist and supporting the DIY ethos. The name is a metaphor for the human condition, the man seen as emotive machinery overwhelmed by negative feelings. The first releases were self-made cd-rs, hand painted or printed and distributed hand by hand in DIY concerts, squats and counter culture spaces. Decay and Still Lives are the documentation of that period, existential and strongly political in nature, made from urban sounds loops, broken toy instruments, and noise generators.

Along with those came the Ancient Future USB memory stick that included 3 digital mini albums and a folder of GM’s art inspired by rock drawings, prehistoric art, and Art Brut.
In 2016 GM cooperated with EDA/ECT TAPES label in Athens, sharing ideas, organizing gigs and forming a coherent circle of like-minded artists. Heterodoxa is the first tape release on ECT label, mixing a wide range of diverse references such as sound poetry, industrial noise, children’s music, circuit bending, the Dogon Nommo mythology, and tribal fetishism. B side Une Totale Midnight Chamber Music is a live recording from Villa Zwgrafou squat in Athens shortly before it was evacuated, and the title is a schizophrenic homage to three of GM’s beloved artists, Ghedalia Tazartes, SPK, and Violent Onsen Geisha."

I have split his introduction according to the various releases,I will make another post about his more recent releases in the near future.
To complete this post I am also attaching a video.
Enjoy this amazing artist.

DRUNK NACH OSTEN N2-(Fanzine+Cdr-Drunk Nach Osten-Czech Republic-2010)

Very good fanzine in English language from  Czech Republic, this issue comes with a long and nice compilation on Cdr including many Cezch punk bands.
The 68 pages offset printed fanzine offers us long interviews to Human Error(Hungary), Critica Radicala(Romania),
Grazhdanskaya Oborona(Russia), Punk Rock and HC Punk in Czechoslovakia before 1989, Latvia punk scene report, Balkanika Core Fest I August 2008 report, and tons of CDs reviews, flyers, pictures, and info.
A great fanzine with many useful insights about the lively east European @punk scene of the last decade.
The Cdr includes 38 tracks from 30 bands, all of them playing their own personal punk rock, HC punk and similar music.
A very good work both as zine and as music compilation.
Big thanx to Martina for this nice gift from Czech Republic.
Enjoy it.

MARCEL HERMS & MARC VAN ELBURG-Feedback Distortion-(De Hondenkoekjesfabriek-Holland-2004)

Here the marvellous art-opera of the sublime duo Marc Van Elburg and Marcel Herms.
Expect noise, industrial, weird frequencies, odd loops and more genial passages.
It came in a very spacial folder with cartboard printed label and a 40-page booklet with 'art brut' drawings, packaged in a plastic sleeve.
De Hondenkoekjesfabriek seems to be the label associated with the Dutch noise project called Fck'N'Bstrds*.
Xs4all.nl is the webpage by Marc Van Elburg where you can check his great drawings and art-works,you`ll find it here
The booklet give us an insight of his own strange yet very nice drawings and art.
An exquisite piece of art-brut plastic+papers.
Lovely.
