Desvan n1-(Fanzine-Spain-1983)

32 b/w pages on the first issue of this Spanish zine focused on comics, graphics, music and drawings.

Interviews with Fernando Gallego(band), Sintesis(a comics shop)-Cuentos Chinos(band),  articles bout Richard Coren(graphic designer and painter)+ lots of comic strips.

A nice little example of the underground press from the Iberian peninsula in the 80s.

Only in the Spanish Language.

The Storming Of The City-(Comic-Leaflet-UK-1999)

An amazing and funny parody about the events happened on 18th June 1999 during a protest against capitalism that turned into a riot in the heart of  London.
It was called Carnival Against The Capital and A spoof version of the Evening Standard, daily London-based newspaper was produced. 30,000 copies were printed and distributed on June 17 and 18 to City workers. The cover resembled the layout of the actual newspaper and the inner pages contained agitprop and humor. The newspaper was handed out for free. The headline read 'Global Market Meltdown', followed by a spoof report of the collapse of the world's financial markets.[2][3]

This small comic leaflet is only 4 A4 pages printed off-set in b/w.
Great drawings by Pete Loveday and a very funny text by Schnews.
Enjoy it.

ARTHUR PERRY N47-(Fanzine-Self Released-UK-199?)

Small yet genial fanzine with lots of weird drawings, comics and short stories by various contributors writing from different angles of this planet. If  I don`t fail it was assembled by Lee Stokoe noise artist already covered in this blog for his work as Culver and his personal small label Matching Head.
Enjoy it.

The Faction File-(Hooligan Press-UK-1985)

Brilliant short comic stories full of irony, sarcasm and brutality...It does include also "Tales From The Frontline".

A must-read  for all the comic lovers and the experts of some obscure underground press coming straight from the dark unknown crypts of the last century.

Enjoy it.

SIVULLINEN International Newsletter (graphix,info,news,underground press)

Sivullinen was a newsletter edited by Jouni Waarakangas in Helsinki(Finland)!!!
Jouni was printing in it everything  that was coming out from the underground  world.
This newsletter had no borders!!!
So we could find in it news about zines, comincs, tape labels, mail art, anarchist newspapers, poetries, short stories, experimental music, adverts for future compilation tapes, flyers of bands and their productions, mail art projects and whatever was related to  all those subjects .
The graphix layout  was messy and at the same time funny  on  2 A6 size folded pages .
It was printed 4 times at year in a printrun of 1000 copies and it was free although a donation in stamps would have been always very appreciated.Jouni was into trading zines and cassette productions!!

I guess everybody involved into mail networking during  the 90s (mail art, zines exchange, independent cassette labels etc) has received 1 or more issues of this  nice newsletter.
Jouni in fact was inviting everybody to pass it  on after using it and I am sure lots of people was actually doing so.
I did scan here 4 issues that I`ve found into my messy archive of zines, books, flyers, posters and more random papers that I suppose to sort out ;*(
A must for the lovers of  the underground press.
