GUERRA FREDDA/STRELNIKOFF - Concerto Al C.S.A. Udine - (Not On Label-Italy-1989)

Strelnikoff were a Slovenian  electro punk-rock band active in between 1988 and 2001. Members were Franek Markošek - guitar, Robert Ceglar - saxophone, Tomaž Vučer - bass (1988-1989), Sergej Steblovnik - vocals & programming, Vasja Ocvirk - vocals & programming, Scheet (ex Afflict) - bass (1989-1990), Aleš Uratnik (ex Epidemic Zone, Non Finire Mai) - bass (1994-1997), Iztok Mravlje (ex Phone Box Vandals, Semprini) - bass (from 1997).

The Strelnikoff Mary of Help of Brezje controversy or the Strelnikoff Affair (Slovene: Afera Strelnikoff) began after a depiction of Mary of Help of Brezje holding a rat instead of Jesus,it was published by the Slovenian music group Strelnikoff on the cover of their 1998 album Bitchcraft. The album was made in protest of the official views of the Roman Catholic Church in Slovenia and the statements of some of its highest representatives on the subject of abortion.
The first to condemn this depiction was Franc Rode, who was the Bishop of Ljubljana at the time. This was followed by general public outcry and expressions of the inappropriateness of the misuse of one of the most known symbols of Slovenian Catholicism. The State Attorney's Office received 3,867 public protests and 1,208 requests for indictment. These were united in one that was at first rebuffed before the Celje District Court. However, the state prosecutor Elizabeta Gyorkos filled a complaint. The group members also received phone calls and threats. In August 2003, the indictment was refused by the Ljubljana Higher Court as well. In accordance with the Constitution of Slovenia and the Slovenian law, the court concluded that the authors were "tasteless in their artistic project, however they did not surpass the boundary of allowed at all." VIVERE MERDA-Pace Violenta-(Self Released-Italy-2008)

Biography

Half of 90s

Gigi, Sebi, Enrico and Robi formed the Piscia Korsakov in Udine, have some gigs in Friuli and Slovenia and, in 1997, record an LP called “Vivere la Merda”. Shortly after, the band breaks up, due to some components alcohol issues. Meanwhile, Gigi and Sebi were also involved and playing with another band, the Kriesti Rvota, a slightly more politicized punk band which will follow by breaking up in a while.

2006

Almost ten years later, Gigi (drums) and Sebi (bass), after countless events decided to start back where they left off and, joined by Nichole (voice) and Ciro (guitar) from Trieste, formed VIVERE MERDA. After the first gig, Ciro leaves the band in order to focus on Metal music and is replaced from Samuel/UomoDonna. After some gigs, the first demo is recorded: a five tracks (some of them were old songs from the previously formed bands) CDR plus a live track.CIMG1863

2007-2008

In November 2006 Sebi, very busy in getting drunk, left his place to Jubbi (from Cimex, Wonderpack and Abiotica, former bands from Treviso). A new CDR called “Pace Violenta” is recorded; it has seven new songs. By end of 2008, mr. UomoDonna finds an apartment in Germany for a while and Nicky, a Filipino punk, replaces him. To end, also the singer disappears for unknown reasons (love, maybe?). There are no live shows for a while.

2009-2010

At the beginning of 2009, Dalila (from Foiba Punx) is hired for the four-date English tour with Disorder. After some researches, a new singer is welcomed: Alessia. In 2010 a split 12” with ANXTV from La Spezia is released. Vivere Merda’s,“Escort Punk”, has 6 tracks, while the side by ANXTV -”Diritto d’Illusione”- has 5 tracks.

Vomit A Sbreghe Balon/I Rabiosi-Meglio Sotto Terra Che Su Un'Italia Di Merda-(Split Tape-Tocai Recs-Italy-1996)

With lo-fi recordings and some political lyrics, those 2 bands from Udine share a cassette taped with a  home-recorder in an illegal rehearsal room. They pressed more than 100 copies, the first 100 are hand numbered. The folded cover sleeve reports lyrics, thanx, info and few pics.
They both play a kind of minimal HC Punk, somehow melodic, only apparently demented yet funny.
Enjoy it.

FUGAZI-Concerto In Via Volturno 28 Occupato E Autogestito-(Not On Label-Italy-c60-1989)

Fugazi (/fuˈɡɑːzi/; foo-GAH-zee) is an American post-hardcore band that formed in Washington, D.C. in 1987. The band consists of guitarists and vocalists Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto, bassist Joe Lally and drummer Brendan Canty.
Fugazi are noted for their DIY ethical stance, manner of business practice,[1] and contempt towards the music industry.[2]
Fugazi have performed numerous worldwide tours, produced six studio albums, a film and a comprehensive live series, gaining the band critical acclaim and success around the world.[3] Fugazi has been on an indefinite break since 2003.
Fugazi has a long-lasting partnership with Positive Force DC (punk activist collective). Members in the band all strongly commit to non-commercial DC ethic, which means that the band concentrate on creating meaningful punk music and use it to radicalize the politics.[4] (from wikipedia)
This tape was recorded  at their gig on the 14 Nov. 1988,(It must have been their first european tour) in a squat in Udine
(Northern Italy)! The recording is just excellent.

KRIESTI RVOTA-Nessuna Galera-(3blinka Occupato Autoproduzioni-Italy-1998)

Kriesti rvota was an anarcopunk band  involved in the 3blinka Occupato ,a very active squatted social center in Udine(Northern Italy).
They play a fast and chaotic HC Punk with political lyrics.
As far as I know they are now involved in another band called Vivere Merda.
In this tape you`ll find 17 tracks and a nice cover sleeve with lyrics and graphix.
If you are into old school HC Punk this is for you.
Enjoy it.
