v.a.-While The Cat Is Away-(Media Tapes-UK-1989)

 Very good sampler of solo artists compiled by Daz Lloyd for his label Media Tapes back in 1989. It features many good solo-acts : Dave Fanning and Andy Martin ,also involved in The Apostoles,Danbert Nobacon also involved in Chumbawamba ,Doom present in this sampler is not the famous crust punk band but it is a nickname for Mark Richardson involved in Terminus, Crag Milner previously of Declaration alongside Daz and Pete,also great tracks by the prolific Lord Litter. I have no info about Toshiyuki Hiraoka,Uncle Dick Fish and Statement.To complete this post I am adding the songtitles and a script by Daz included in the cover sleeve.

 

Big thanks to Mark Terminus for donating this tape to this blog and to PJL for passing me some info about the artists. Since this tape seems to be very rare I left these tracks as waves. Enjoy it.

LORD LITTER-A New Magic In A Dusty World-(Self Released-Germany-1987)

 Another nice cassette by this guru of the cassette culture scene of the 70s/80s/90s until nowadays. I wrote about him when I have posted his tapes Space Age and The Place Where The World Collide and No More Rock `N` Roll.

His actual webpage offers to us his great amount of work both as a musician and as a DJ. Well worth checking out.

LORD LITTER-No More Rock`n`Roll-(Self Released-Germany-1987)

Another great cassette by the eclectic Lord Litter, I wrote about him when I have posted his tapes Space Age and The Place Where The World Collide.

Here a quote by him taken from his actual webpage  where you can read about his history, releases, related projects and his incredible radio shows.

"I started releasing my music in 1984-"the cassette scene revolution" made it possible to record/duplicate/release/distribute from your living room. Whenever I had some songs finished that presented a certain period,

I released them with the help of an uncontrollable amount of small labels- all just there for the music-worldwide.

First on cassettes, later on CD-Rs. I never even tried to make money with my music by cooperating with any kind of "industry".

All in all, I really have no idea how many releases I have out. At the least 40 I guess, plus countless tracks on compilations, cassettes/vinyl /cd."

LORD LITTER-The Place Where Worlds Collide-(1984-1992) [c60 Joukkomurha Productions] + -Space Age- (C60-Audiofile Tapes,Usa-1989)

It is  difficult to write about Lord Litter  because he`s been around for a long time in the european underground scene producing a large amount of tapes+cds, he has been collaborating with  many artists and also he is a very skilled dj involved in few radio stations since long time.

Those two tapes are old and are not listed on his webpage.

"The place where worlds collide" is a selection of released and unreleased songs  from 1984 untill 1992,edited and distributed by Joukkomurha Productions in Finland in the mid 90s.
"Space Age" is a cassette released by the legendary Audiofile Tapes (Usa) in 1989.
Both tapes bring us his own personal style of writing and producing music and if one might be close to some  "summer of love" music of the late 60s the other  is instead   near to the space rock of certain low-fi movies in the late 70s.
All in all Lord Litter is  a weird genius of our time passing throu different layers of counter-culture and crossing the borders of time and space to deliver us a creative  and innovative music that  stands on its own.
A must for the lovers of original music.
