Empty Records:Independent label founded in 1984 in San Francisco and active under that name until 1996. In 1987 one partner broke off and formed Penultimate Records. In 1996 there was a lawsuit/split between the US branch (then located in Seattle, WA) and the German branch (then located in Nuernberg). They subsequently separated into Empty Records (US) and Empty Records Europe. After the lawsuit between the entities, Empty Europe "released" a 'bootleg' series.
