Humor Cáustico-Ao Vivo-Gaia Em Peso(2005)-(Self Released-Portugal-2005)

Humor Cáustico was an HC Punk band from Oporto(Portugal) active last decade, I m  not sure if the music and images here were ever released as a  proper production, in fact, Rodolfo(the guitarist) passed these files to me as mp3s on a disk probably 13 years ago, since then I have lost touch with him.

Humor Cáustico appears to be on a very old Portuguese compilation called Portugal Indio that I posted back in 2014, it seems to be the same band. 

In these live recordings, we can listen to 12 well-recorded tracks of furious HC Punk with political lyrics sung in the Portuguese language. 

I add some pics that were included with these files.

Warning Vol. 1+ Warning Vol. 2-(Fanzine-USA-2004/2005)

A very good fanzine published in Portland(California)at the beginning of this century.

A zine for Punks and Thrashers focused on hardcore punk, politics and political punk.

Interesting interviews and articles, lots of pics and a very punk graphic layout.
I am posting the vol 1 and 2  + including here the first editorial.

NECROPHONIE N1-(Fanzine-France-2005)

The first and the only number of this amazing French zine all written in English! Very well done with long and interesting interviews to Lustmord, Jarl, MK9, Galeria Schallshutz, Nuit Et Brouillard, Citadel, Land:Fire, Propergol, Steel Hook Prostheses, Skm-Etr, Brethren, Barrikad, Kaos Kontrol label and Degenerate fanzine, Bestia Centauri, Somnambulant label, a good report about Providence Industrial festival 2003 + a section with loads of music reviews.

As I met in the virtual world the editor of this fantastic zine I asked him to write a small introduction for this post, A very big thanx to Nicolas for passing me his astonishing work and giving me permission to share it in this blog.

Here his words:"Conceived and assembled from 2003 to 2005, copied and sold in 2006, 200 copies print run. Prior to doing this zine, I was somehow boycotting computers and the internet - to make it, I began to get involved with computers and the internet. That was when social networks (especially early Myspace) began their conquest... I got drowned in this shit, thus there has never been an issue two. The world smothered in even more absurdity."

To complete this post I am attaching the first page with his editorial written back in 2004.

I believe this is a real gem for the lovers of the independent press about post-industrial music and related subjects.

Muerte En La Industria-Tu Vida-(Speedstate Records-Japan-2005)

Cd-discography by this raw noise punk band from Mexico City active in the mid-80s, they had a short life, only a couple of year and 1 demo recorded yet they left an incredible legacy! 

This cd came out with a good booklet reporting lyrics, pics and an extended biography in English, Japanese and Spanish. 

They reformed in 2017 for the first Punktud Fest in Mexico and played a total of 6 gigs, the last one in October of the same year, a benefit for the people in need after the earthquake that shattered the country 1 month before.

To complete this post I am attaching a pic from this reunion, the t-shirt printed on this occasion and a video live at Punkitud 2017.
A very big thanx and greetings to Nacho for passing me this great cd a few years back and the t-shirt, pics + the updates just 3 months ago.

Brazilian edition of the Eka Demo + "Propaganda is hippies" songs released by Muito Além da Musica. Includes lyrics in Portuguese for the demo songs.

HEADACHE-Discography-(Life Is Abuse-USA-2005)

Full cd with complete discography by this rather bizarre band from Leeds, although most of them were actually foreigners, nevermind a nationality Headache forged a music that is difficult to describe. 

Deviated, psychotic, broken rhythms, crazy vocals, weird lyrics, deranged passages and hilarious changes of song`s structures are all the ingredients for their rather strange music`s recipe yet we can call it HC Punk..., maybe. 

This great cd comes with a long booklet reporting lyrics and weird graphics-work drawings by Birdy,(the drummer)!

As far as I know, after they split up Titi` and Max formed Jmen Fous in Lausanne (Switzerland).

Life Is Abuse is a label active since 1992, although their official webpage is still on they are no longer trading, selling or releasing new material.

REQUIEM-Storm Heaven-(CrimethInc-USA-2005)

Requiem is an American anarchist hardcore punk band founded by ex-members of Catharsis.
In this full-length album, they play a furious form of HC punk mixing various influences. This cd comes in a beautiful booklet reporting ideas and lyrics, the cover sleeve is actually a stencil...

A very good production by the legendary Crimethink: a label that started in the mid-1990s, the CrimethInc. Ex-Workers' Collective (CWC) is a decentralized publisher of anarchist and alternate lifestyle ideas in literature, music, and video. No copyrights.

Bite The Hand That Feeds The Poisoned Food N4-(Fanzine-Denmark-2005)

This is the zine by Cormy from Ireland, this issue finished to be assembled in Nov. 2005 when He was living in Denmark.

 Personal writings and music mixed in his own very way making this collection of thoughts very special.

 After a long intro, we`ll find here interviews to Guided Cradle from the Czech Republic and Abandon from Sweden,, few music reviews plus a very in-depth and rather funny diary of the tour with Nuclear Death Terror.

All very well decorated with a crusty edge graphic layout making this zine looking very punk.

GENDERS-There's Something In The Treats-(Tigerbeats6-USA-2005)

Genders is a duo composed by Evan and Jeans playing an interesting mix of art rock, no wave, minimal sequences + experimental electronic music with a very lo-fi key. 

This miniCD was conceived and produced with a very DIY approach.

"Recorded in June 2005 with Evan`s 8 track by us with help by Evan`s Father Curt Johnson..."

Tigerbeat6 is a San Francisco and Berlin- based independent and (mostly) electronic record label run by Kid606 (Miguel De Pedro).^[1] The label is run as a DIY operation and releases a variety of electronic music styles, including noisecore, intelligent dance music, bedroom pop, folktronica, and electronica-driven hip hop.^[2] The name reflects De Pedro's obsession with cats, which also comes to light in the catalog numbers, all of which start with MEOW. It is also a loose reference to the top-selling teen magazine Tiger Beat. The label's first release was in 2000; it has over two hundred releases in total.^[3] A 2001 compilation of the label's output was described as "stripping intelligent dance music of its intelligence[,] often resorting to outright silliness, and sometimes parody."^[4] The AV Club described the same compilation as satirizing glitch through "gestures borrowed from punk, indie-rock, and hip-hop."^[5]

NEVER BUILT RUINS-Demo 2005-(Disturbance Records-Switzerland-2005)

Great debut demo by this killer Swiss band mixing cutting-edge crust punk with "Motorhead" style arrangements and surprisingly Lemmy`s similar voice.

Professionally recorded and with a nice cover sleeve reporting few info and lyrics this is a very good cassette for all the "metal/crust-heads" around the world.

Bite The Hand That Feeds The Poisoned Food n3/Cottonfist n17-(Split Fanzine-Ireland/Denmark-2005)

This is an amazing joint effort by two great fanzines active in the early 2000s.Lots of personal writings, ideas/critiques about the punk scene some interviews and music+zine reviews.I have found it very interesting.
Few words from other webpages: 
Split zine, 68 pages A5, with an A3 split poster. Written mostly on the theme of sexual assault, rape and gender in the punk scene, with lots of pieces on the various issues involved. Interview with INEPSY (Canada), and with 4 women (from Ireland/Brazil/Canada/Australia) on their experiences of sexism within the punk scene in Ireland and also where they´re from. Pieces also on Halloween (Samhain) in Ireland, it´s pagan roots, and the chaos it brings to the streets, and another on the tyranny of living in cities. Lots of zine & record reviews, drawings, photos and various other small pieces.(from Eirecore) 

Cotton Fist was written by Eric. He started the zine in 1997 after coming across various zines and freesheets and feeling they weren’t dealing with subjects that he was interested in, such as animal liberation, animal rights, and anti-fascism, which would make up the content of early issues, along with record and cider reviews. Getting more aware of other zines and avenues of writing, Eric tried to put more of a personal perspective on political issues. The last issue of Cotton Fist , which was the 17th issue, was a split zine with another Dublin punk zine Bite the hand that feeds the poisoned food and was released in 2005.

Over the years of doing Cotton Fist Eric expanded its distribution from purely local by sending it for trade/ review to other zines and to various shops, distros and individuals in Australia, North America and all over Europe. 

Bite the hand that feeds the poisoned food is an anarcho-punk zine from Dublin, Ireland.

Bite the hand that feeds the poisoned food is put together by Cormy. It contains articles, interviews, music and zine reviews. It has had interviews with Bastard Youth, Niall McGuirk (who used to write React zine), Tom Inglis and Conor (who used to write King of the Sad People). The articles often are of a personal/political nature. The last issue was a split zine with another Irish punk zine, Cotton Fist.(from Zinewiki)

CCC CNC NCN-Performances Soundtracks 2005/6-(Not On Label-Italy-2006)

In this digital release, this legendary collective presents 4 soundtracks of 4 different performances held in Torino and around that city, their hometown, in the years 2005 and 2006.The last track is instead an unreleased track recorded in a studio.

I have already written about them when I posted their masterpiece album released in 1989 "Suidicio Modo D`Uso".

For who missed that post  CCC CNC NCN is a radical collective from the anarchic/antagonist underground scene, combining old-school industrial sound with conceptual records and live shows about unpopular topics, such as suicide as an extreme choice of freedom, mass control, and oppression.

DISSCIORDA-Alienation Breeders(Agipunk-Italy-2005)

Amazing  furious HC Punk by this italian combo from Southern Italy!

I wrote about them when I posted their rare  split tape with Pastafrolla.In that post you can find a small bio written by the drummer Alfredo and the explanation of this funny name.

This cd had an excellent review by Maximum Rock`n Roll magazine,here it is:"Damn this is really good! I like this more every time I listen to it. Unfortunately it´s fair to say this record looks really bad. With a logo stolen from Discharge and some less-than-exciting picture you´d problably pass this up. But this band is not a Disclone. DISSCIORDA plays some really out-standing punk that is recorded with the perfect amount of clarity while remaining intensely driving and raw. I love the vocals - they are not the least bit crusty, but are instead youth-fully shouted in both the English and Italian languages with passion and convinction. In fact the vocals remind me of FINAL CONFLICT. The reason i review for MRR is for bands like this, I would have not heard this until it was ten years old otherwise. I suggest that you find it quickly. Another awesome release from Agipunk." (WK) Maximum Rock n Roll #263.

Amazing cd compilation created and released in 1000 copies  by Active Slaugther band.
It comes with a 16 page, full-colour booklet reporting actions and info about different groups fighting for animal rights:A.L.F.,Hunt Sabouters association,Speak,Vegan Prisoners Supporter Group and Arkangel magazine,very informative and well done.

As or the music we find a good selction of punk bands. Here an interesting note by Active Slaugther introducing  this cool cd.
