Musicians
rose to the challenge set by the band Gertrude to submit a track about a
woman in the 21st century. The result is an eclectic and vibrant compilation album, offering a variety of feisty garage punk,
electronica and folk, as well as a dash of street poetry. All the tracks on the album will be reviewed by Gertrude on their blog at gertgossip.wordpress.com You are welcome to add your responses to the album here too.
This album was mastered at Bentstring Studio,
November 2014. The cover art is by a revolutionary Cuban artist called
José Gómez Fresquet. The image is called 'Series of dreams of the
Americas' and was completed in 1969.
A big thank you to all the artists who appear on this album. The first track on the album was recorded live (on a phone), at an open mic night during a political occupation of 4 boarded-up council flats which was instigated by the Focus E15 campaign.
