ANTONYM-Native Dystopean-(Obsidian Tapes-UK-1990)

Antonym is the solo project of Metamorphic Journeyman magazine publisher Antony Burnham.

Each artist gives his own interpretation of a soundscore made by Frans de Waard. It comes with a thick paper cover professionally printed on both sides. Numbers manually stamped with colour ink. 

Limited edition of 256 copies. It was later reprinted as CDR. 
A brief synthesis of the art-concept is reported inside the cover sleeve.

TRANCE/DAVID S. HASTINGS-Unyielding Firmament/Toy Box[Split Tape](Sounds For Consciousness Rape-France-1993)

Trance is Mason Jones.The earliest musical entity begun by Mason was called Trance. Starting in 1987, recordings under the name Trance were released on a number of small-edition cassettes, followed by CDs and singles. As a live venture, Trance included other participants over the years, including Elden M., Annabel Lee, Sam Lohmann, and others. Live collaborations under the guise of Trance included shows with Jim O'Rourke, Joe Papa, The Evolution Control Committee, and many more. The name "Trance" was retired after the word became inextricably intertwined with bad electronic music.His actual webpage is here.

Sounds For Consciousness Rape is a defunct French label active in the early '90s in the industrial/noise area and well-known for its limited edition releases.

LIONEL DIXIT-No Edge-(Obsedante/Stoned To Death-Czech Republic-2014)

Lionel Dixit is a duo from Czech Republic playing experimental/tribal and improvised  noise music using different instruments.

This tape is recorded live in  2014 and it seems to be their first production,limited edition of 70 copies.

Back in 2010 I passed this great tape to Vita Ignes Corpus Lignum blog,I am going to re-post it here with the nice review by Crepusculum.

"great cassette here which was released on thee German label Kadef in thee mid/late 90s!! both Alchemy Of The 20th Century and Grunt are projekts ov thee Finnish artist Mikko Aspa [Clandestine Blaze, Clinic Of Torture, Creamface, Nicole 12, Stabat Mater] who is also the owner of Northern Heritage label, and also thee publisher / editor of the S/M magazine "Erotic Perversion" and "Northern Heritage Zine"!! Alchemy Of The 20th Century provide two nice longer pieces ov droning experimental atmospherikx with thee use ov shimmering and scraped metals with some minimal guitar usage, and Grunt provides several trackx ov full-on screaming power elektronikx assault!!"

Noise = Noise was a noise event organized by Ryan Jordan,started in 2005 in London. Ryan is an  artist working with DIY electronics, physical performance, Pure Data, and noise. He makes live electronic music/noise performances which incorporate human physical movements and strobe lighting as their essential foundation. Ryan also curates several noise, experimental and computer arts events and concerts in the UK, such as hac… and noise=noise. He is an active member of London based open source collective, OpenLab; and has released music on Bad Sekta, Anithematica/CovenH, and AntiGen.

 Ryan has performed his work in many places such as galleries, squats, pub cellars, theaters, the odd town hall, festivals, academic institutions and an occasional beach. He has also studied BA Sonica Arts at Middlesex University, London, and MFA Computational Studio Arts at Goldsmiths University, London. He is currently living in Hong Kong.
This cd is a kind of documentation of the gig/event happened at the Foundry in London on the 25/10/2008.

EXPOSE YOUR EYES-Steaming Slipons-(Destroy All Music-UK-c90-199?)

Another great tape by Expose Your Eyes,personal music-idea of Paul Harrison a musician from West Yorkshire,who formed this electronic noise project in the mid 90s.Here his SoundCloud page. and here his own blog.

The label is the "radical cutting edge" Scottish tape label called Destroy All Music(nice name,indeed)-you find here some other of their cool tapes that I posted in this blog.

HERMIT-Logic Bomb-(Pulp Mill Records-Canada-1996)

Another nice tape by the "uncompromising total destruction" act called Hermit real name Eric Boros: a sound artist, guitarist, podcaster, and translator who has been immersed in the global underground for the better part of the last twenty years. With a focus on trans-cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration, he has established connections with artists from around the world and off the beaten path, crossing the borders between art, music and noise. 
He is  also involved in Vialka  playing  guitar and singing.
I wrote about him already when I posted the tapes Vomit Can Be found In Jars ,the split tape with Museum Musicum and a 4 way split with Das Nelson konzept,Mr Moto and Etat Des Stock.

The label  Pulp Mill Records was a DIY underground-label based in Nanaimo(Canada) and it seems to be associated with Eric and his own musical projects of the 90s.

DACHISE/OUTERMOST-Sweet & Bitter-(Cat Move-Japan-c30-1996)

Dachise is Paul Daniel Knowles:Musician from London, UK. The Dachise moniker was retired in 1999. Currently using the name The Digitariat. 
Outermost is  a Japanese noise (sounds from garage, junk, harsh to lo-fi) project run by Kei Yokota.I already posted two tape by him you`ll find them here and here.  

They share this c30 assaulting us with noise industrial of two different kind.

Cat Move is the Japanese label run by Kei Yokota aka Outermost,focused on noise, noisecore and similiar extreme genres(All the info taken from discogs)

MISSING FOUNDATION-Live In Island-Amsterdam-1989-(Not on Label-Holland-1989)

Missing Foundation is Industrial Noise outfit from NYC. Their logo shows a martini-cocktail glass turned upside down meaning "the party's over!". 

Missing Foundation made a point of fighting gentrification in New York's Lower East Side and other metropolitan areas. They left their logo painted on walls where ever they travelled. 

Walking around in major European cities in the late 80's/early 90's you would find this all over the place.(from their discogs page) and here a webpage where you`ll find more info and biography.

FACTOR X -Radio Dada n2 [Unity In Diversity]-(Self Released-UK-199?) + Return Into Itself Hollow -(Self Released-UK-199?)

Factor X was one of Shaun Robert's pseudonyms/projects/aliases. Factor X was founded by Shaun in 1983 as a conceptual idea.The first output was anti musik and then moved to rough collage.Factor X ended in 1994. 

Shaun Robert (b. 1966, Brixham, Devon, England) started recording and making music since the age of 8 using tape machines by utilizing the pause button, crash editing sounds together.This was not seen as form of art, more of a way to understand and adapt the world around him. Using a catalogue of pseudonyms to do various projects, these creative outings became more and more like imaginary friends, colouring things with a rainbow of the mind’s eye.

LASSE MARHAUG-Feed Feel-(Brawler Productions-Germany-1996)

Lasse Marhaug (b. 1974) has since the early 1990s been one of the most active artists in the Norwegian noise/experimental music scene. As a performer and composer he has contributed to well over 300 CD, vinyl and cassette releases over the years, as well as extensive touring and performing live on all continents of the world. In addition to his solo work, Marhaug has collaborated with several artists in the fields of noise, experimental, improv, jazz, rock and extreme metal, as well as working with music and sound for theatre, dance, installations, film and video. He works with different kinds of instrumentation; from guitar-pedals and homemade electronics to computers and modified guitars, but conciders the mixing-board his main instrument. In the 90s he started TWR Tapes (still going) and ran Jazzassin Records. In the 2000s he started the record labels Pica Disk and Prisma Records. In 2011 he started his own print publishing called Marhaug Forlag. He has also been active as an organizer, promoter and producer. Marhaug was born in the northern regions above the arctic circle of Norway, but currently lives in Oslo.(from his official

SETH MISTERKA - Rock`n` Roll Deconstruction Structures-(Sound Probe Recordings-Usa-c33-1996)

Another tape with an incredible special package released by the amazing Sound Probe Recordings,the tape comes into a slice of vinyl that has been melted and folded,(pictures included)!Very original idea,isn`t???

The side A starts with Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones only to turn into a pure deconstruction of R` n `R after few minutes, the tape goes on raging more deconstructed rock and roll to arrive to a pure evil noise.

No idea how many copies were printed in such original package:I guess not thousands.

If I do not fail all the releases by this label had some kind of special packages/covers.

E.H.I. is Brian Noring, American noise artist who is also the mastermind of this cool tape label  F.D.R..

OUTERMOST-Untitled-(Self released-Japan-1997)

Outermost is Kei Yokota,a japanese noise artist active since the  mid 90s.He made lots of collaborations and used lots of other names : Deadly Verity, Electric Sap, Ero-Hage, Fat Elvis, Jing Heng-Tian, Outermost, Scab, Sinner's Crime.

I already spoke about him here.

This tape is not listed in the discogs page dedicated to him,it seems to be self released and it has a strange plastic translucent foil glued on the first part of the case.
