AUBE-Reflux-(Bawler Productions-c30-Germany-1995)

Real Name:中嶋昭文 (Nakajima Akifumi)
Profile: Aube was the solo project of Akifumi Nakajima (January 13, 1959, in Kyoto, Japan – September 25, 2013), begun in 1991. Taking a minimalist approach for his recordings, Nakajima used simple source sounds which were fed into his system, then heavily processed into a vast dimensional landscape of sonic textures. Source sounds ranged from the organic sounds of gurgling water to isolating elements of technology, such as the curious hum of luminous lamps. The result is a mixture of controlled manipulation and beautiful accident. In May 1992, Nakajima started G.R.O.S.S. - his own cassette label dedicated to releasing experimental music, and noise, in addition to his own recordings as Aube. He worked on recordings with artists from Japan, Europe, and the United States in various different capacities and designed packaging for many other releases.
Bawler Productions was a small  Noise / Experimental label from Germany run by Thomas Gith.

THE JAPANESE TORTURE COMEDY HOUR/GRUNT-[split tape]-(Freak Animal Records-Finland-c30-1996)

Japanese Torture Comedy Hour was started in 1996 by Scott Hull, Tim Morse, and Andrew Kokes. Other members joined the band later on when they all collectively recorded their acclaimed record "Voltage Monster." Years after, when the band was presumably inactive, Jay Randall released some of his old solo noise tapes under the alias of Japanese Torture Comedy Hour; these releases being the three "live" albums on Grindcore Karaoke. (from discogs)
Grunt was formed in Finland during spring 1993 to create hard audio havoc. Its early incarnations operated with few other names, before settling into Grunt and making the first officially published works. After 20 years of activity, it is still going strong. Various styles of noise electronics are always hammered with such pressure it usually transforms into known Grunt-noise, even if new methods and approaches are added. Various interests, moods and approaches and different kinds of topics has been used during the years. Strong visuals and lyrics are the most well known to people.

Since early days, Grunt has been merely part of international power electronics-noise scene. There has never been desire to attract attention widely. There has never been attempts to be credible within academic noise circles, performance art or modern industrial culture. Nor promote it in media outside the core of noise-underground. However, neither there is clear desire to follow genre restrictions. When invitations have happened, Grunt has been featured in documentaries, newspaper articles, playing together with punk, metal and gothic bands as well as among performance art events.
Grunt is tightly connected to the vision of Freak Animal Records label and has also handful of other forms, what can be understood as projects of their own or simply branches slightly separated from the main project.(from his webpage)
This cassette came out in a limited edition of 75 hand numbered copies  wrapped in a piece of hard white wall-paper.
Enjoy it.

THIRD WORLD PLANET-World Waste-(Pulp Mill+Break Even-Canada-c30-1995)

Great and short yet very intense  cassette by this Canadian outfit playing very extreme Hc punk mixed with powerviolence, screams and fast drums.Third World Planet was a powerviolence duet from British Columbia, Canada. TWP was the music vehicle of Eric Boros (guit noise) and Jason Flower (percussion) plus some guests, they started in 1995 and ended up around 1999, they released several ep's,splits, flexi's, tapes and their final release was the "Old white men-discography" lp. This is another band in which Eric Boros, the genius guitarist of  Vialka. played during the 90s.
I already posted a couple of tapes by him as Hermit: here and  here.
Eric Boros has been immersed in the global underground for the better part of the last twenty years. He is a self-taught guitarist, experimental multi-instrumentalist, improviser and composer, cassette archivist and performance artist, curator and networker, photographer, and translator. With a focus on trans-cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration, he has established connections with artists from around the world and off the beaten path, crossing the borders between art, music and noise.
You`ll find his extensive discography here.
Enjoy it.

NUCLEO RECUPERO CADAVERI-Nucleo Recupero Cadaveri-(Self Released-c30-Italy-1993)

Nucleo Recupero Cadaveri was a project formed in Italy (I suppose they were from Pesaro, but I am not 100% sure) I saw them live at the Meeting Anticlericale (Anticlergy meeting/festival) in Fano in 1993.
They were 3 people on the stage playing a kind of crazy electronics with yelled vocals shouting statements against the ruling society and all it comes with: (prisons/madhouses/taxes/clergy/religions/sexual taboos...).
This is their first tape (as far as I know). It is a C30 coming inside a black carton paper box with a little book containing some weird prose and poetry. It was completely diy and sold in the alternative channel of anarchist distros.
Their name means Unit Of Bodies Recovery!

INFEZIONE-Oppressione Quotidiana-(Self Released-c30-Italy-1987)

This demo is a piece of Italian HC Punk  history.Infezione were an anarcopunk trio in the very beginning and on this demo!
They play a very violent and fast HC Punk with "straight in your face" political lyrics. It came out with a booklet and a sticker, all the scans here included.it was re-released as lp by Agipunk  in 2003.
With 17 tracks of aggressive punk Infezione deliver their messages using fast guitar riffs, powerful drums and angry vocals.
If you like bands such as Negazione and Wretched you`ll love this one.
A masterpiece,simply.

VOICE OF DESTRUCTION-A Wot Demo-(Self Released-c30- South Africa-1987)

Voice Of Destruction started around late 1985 early 1986 if I remember correctly. A wot demo their first recording was recorded I'd say 1987. They were to my eyes and ears the most influential and constant Cape Town hardcore punk band. They were a feature of the infamous ARTIES underground (literally and figuratively) alternative pub. They played with various punk, goth and metal bands, doing at least 2 tours to jo'burg and at least 2 massive battle of the bands shows at university of Cape Town, playing with the likes of NO FRIENDS OF HARRY and ATTIC MUSE drawing about 1000-1500 people at these shows. It has to be said that I am talking about early V.O.D. (late 80's-early 90's), as the band slowly progressed to a crossover band uniting the punk and metal scene in Cape Town. As bands had come and gone V.O.D would continue to play and progress to a heavier metal influence through the 1990's to 2000's. Greg the guitarist would remain the only original member as new members from various metal bands would join. Dickens on bass and the Blom brothers would now be the constant members on vocals and drums, continuing this new format of one of South Africa's most important alternative bands.
The new V.O.D grew and became ever more popular. I am surprised that this really important demo from the earlier days of the band has almost been lost, but here it is, enjoy.

MENACE DEMENT-Menace Dement-(Co-Production=Menace Dement /Nautilus-Italy-c30-1990)

This band was a side  project of Neil Burke(bass player of Born Against) and Patrick Blank (drummer of Undead and Black Snakes),they played  for a couple of years on the end of the 80s releasing only a 7inch called Nanna in 1991 on Lungcast Recs, a posthumous album on Vermiform in 1997  and this tape in 1990.
They play a rather insane form of post-punk mixed with some noise rock, tribal obsessive rhythms, some degenerated  blues and desperate   screaming vocals by the amazing Cassandra Stark.
This  tape came out as a  co-production:a good effort from the band and the legendary Italian label Nautilus, still very active, here their webpage.
Enjoy it.

HISTATIC CHARGE-Why Do I Always Hafta Do The Dishes-(Set Cassettes-c30-USA-1991)

This is a classic from the underground cassette culture of the late 80s and I will c+p here something I have found on the Vuzh Music Webpage.
" Terry Burke was my first true-blue cassette underground contact back in the olden days before there was such a thing as the internets... before there was such a thing as netlabels. Terry's musical output under the name Histatic Charge was limited in terms of releases, I think he only had two tapes, and then he did a couple of compilations with his tape label... but it didn't even matter, for me it was the "Aha!" moment, you could throw down some high weirdness on tape, slap a photocopied cover on that baby and start mailing them to people and as easy as that you could be DOING music. You didn't have to prove yourself to anyone. (I actually had already released two tapes by the point I'd made this discovery, but I had not thought of them as anything other than one "demo" and one art project.)"

DIAGRAM:A-Compression And The Process Of Turning Red-(Sound Probe Recordings-c30-1996-Usa)

With a rather special cover made of  very rough and hard acrylic paint this cassette by the project Diagram A makes her tricks to the eyes, the noise industrial is there to stay with mid frequencies ,feedbacks and more random noises.
Sound Probe was a small American label specialized in low -fi noise, industrial and not conventional music.
I have the feeling  that other productions by this label had special limited edition cover sleeves.
Enjoy it.

FUTILE EXSISTENCE-Mental As Nothing-(c30-1995-Scattered Productions-Finland)

I do not know much about this project, they were Finnish and made 2 split tapes, the first with Grunt and the second with Supposed To Be.
Their music is a violent form of electro industrial noise flirting with the grindcore.
Scattered Productions was a small tape label active in the mid 90s,here the discogs page where you`ll find  some of their other releases.

TOMBSTONE - A Cascade Of Tears - (Psychotic Release-Italy-1993-c30)

A certain kind of ritual noise is the music that this project hailing from a small village near Padova (Northern Italy) is delivering to us with this short tape,as he clearly writes "this noise music is free from samplers and programmable equipment".
Here some info taken from discogs webpage:
"Tombstone was one of the most original and most misunderstood formation on dark industrial scene. Heavy influenced by Italian gothic-horror movies and utilized old analog equipment, digital effects, field recordings and tape recorders Emanuele Lago compose perfect soundtrack-like music full of harsh noises, samples from old horror movies and nightmarish atmosphere. Tombstone (and side projects) released many tapes on Emanuele own label Psychotic Release and just one proper CD compiled from the best tracks on Cold Meat Industry side label Death Factory which was limited to only 1500 copies. In late 90s Italian label Anaemic Waves Factory reissued some tapes on limited CDr and released new album Under A Bloody Veil (on limited CDr as well). Highly recommended to all who really into horror industrial music and gothic movies." + more info with links
"real name:Emanuele Lago

This project was born at the end of 1993 as one-man-band. Only one is the mind behind Tombstone, who attends to all by itself, starting from the ideas up to the final recording of the master... The soundscapes proposed are a blend of industrial and ambient. The first tapes were industrial experiments rather obscure and perverse, but the production on cd is something original, both as background idea and inspiration and as sonorous atmosphere... We could call it "gothic-ambient", but you have not to mistake it for the typically keyboard works from other projects; on the contrary Tombstone is something more noisy and experimental oriented. Terror, fear sonorities are created processing electrically natural noises and sounds, not taken from keyboards and neither following any musical composition theory nor using a sequencer, to not make all unnatural and not much obscure. The term "gothic" is used since the inspiration for the atmospheres proposed comes from the influence of gothic novels and tales; especially the primordial ones... ( E. Lago )
E. Lago is also the creator of the Psychotic Release label.

ATTACKED BY WOLVES - Up A Bit From Down - (Destroy All Music-UK-1994-c30)

Another tape released by Destroy all Music, good enough I have found one copy of their catalogue so here I am going to copy what they wrote to introduce this tape on their catalogue.
"Attacked by Wolves-Up A Bit From Down(c30-£1.50)-some of the best stuff yet from this man,he creates crop circles of avant-garde which gradually stray temporarily into the fields of avant-rock, like a cross of Factor X ,Small Things but mostly ZGA with runaway scuzz-honk.Don`t ignore..."
About this scottish label active during the 90s here what they wrote:
"Destroy All Music is a new kind of label specialising in lo-fi noise-art-punk-jazz-no-wayexperimental and anything with alternative edge or viewpoint.Destroy All Music is also a queercore label, written big and proud and wants confrontational bands ,so if you are in a band send us a tape or what you are just interested!!!"
