v.a.-The Power And The Passion Vol III-(Irre Tapes-Germany-c46-1991)

Another excellent compilation released by the legendary  Irre Tapes, German label covered in this blog few times.
A bunch of good artists playing electronic music in various forms and shapes... 

Irre Tapes was run by Matthias Lang which evolved out of the IRRE Fanzine he published regularly during the early 1980's covering New Wave, Post Punk and the German Underground.
With his 3rd Tape Compilation Ein Herz In Not he started IRRE Tapes which was mainly active in the late 80s/early 90s and released material by the likes of Brume, Maeror Tri and City Of Worms and loads of lesser known and stylistic different artists (Unpleasant Surprise, The Fuckedtones, Magic Moments At Twilight Time, Doc Wör Mirran) covering the whole range of the Independent Underground from Experimental Electronica to Guitar Pop.
In true DIY spirit, he supported the international network of small labels and fanzines through editing the free IRRE Newsletter to spread info and contacts and writing occasional reviews for various publications. Most of his Compilations should be seen as an attempt to promote lesser-known artists and labels. Without a doubt, he was one of the driving forces of the German Tape Scene.
He finally called the label days quits in 1994/1995 but soon re-appeared as collaborating and networking artist Mr. Moto (2).(from discogs)

FUSTIGATORI DEL CAZZO/UPSET NOISE-Live At Manicomio-16/03/1991-(Chanson D`Amour And Cataclysm Distro-Italy-1991)

Live tape with the Italian legends Upset Noise supported by Fustigatori Del Cazzo in this gig at the social squatted center Manicomio in Pesaro, during the early 90s.
The live recording is ok and the cover sleeve reports song-titles and a few info. 

Chanson D`amour and Cataclysm was a small label founded by the members of Eversor to distribute their productions

and associated friends.

If you are into classic old school Italian HC Punk then you`ll like this one.

v.a.-Cybernetic Illuminations-(Tecdance-Germany-1991)

Astonishing cassette compilation covering the early EBM/Electro dance scene of the early 90s. 

Lots of good acts/artists alternating their great skills here. It came out in a generic TDK SA90 cassette and with a multi-folded sleeve with band addresses and label info.

Tecdance was a small German tape label, based in Hannover. It was formed by Oliver Köhn and released some EBM and Synthpop tapes in the (very) the late 80s/early 90s. Most of the tapes were limited editions and demo tapes.
The label also worked as a tape distributor, e.g. for bands such as Trial, Infam, Beborn Beton, In Absentia, and Brain Leisure and distributed some compilation tapes of INZKZ Produkte and Beton Tapes. (from Discogs)

Pintalo De Verde n5-(Mail Art Container-Spain+Global Networking-1991)

Pintalo De Verde was a mail art container created by the Spanish mail artist Antonio Gomez in the early 90s.

This is the issue number 5 and it contains artworks by 16 mail artists who sent him 20 copies of their artwork to be assembled in this zine/container.

Quite a few very good artworks with a free theme and free size too.

THE SMALLTOWN GROOVERS-Demo Autoprodotto-(Self Released-Italy-1991)

Another mystery tape here:almost no info on the cover sleeve,I do not know where they come from,neither the line up, how long they were active or when this was released,I guess 1991/92.

A small review(no idea from which magazine was taken from) was included in the cover sleeve,apparently this is their second demo.

Well recorded, probably in a professional studio recording,beside the last song, which is recorded live(no idea where).They offer us 5 well played and arranged tracks of acid dance and pop wave. 

Their music is a bit too cheesy for my personal taste but this tape is so obscure that fits in this blog anyway.

If ever somebody out there will be so curious to listen to them!
Some tracks are kind of very catchy too,if you like the genre...

ZAŠTO?-Issue 1-(Fanzine-Yugoslavia-1991)

Small zine created by Miland DuriĆ in Smeredevo (Yugoslavia) during the early 90s.I have already written about him when I have posted the double cassette called Victims.

In this first issue, Milan writes reviews and thoughts + few interviews to: It`s Not For Sale, Gottschee, Extreme Smoke, Motus Vita Est, KBO, Apatridi.

A very good tool to research the punk scene of ex Yugoslavia.

Only in Yugoslavian Language.

ARS MORIENDI/MONOKROM-Hexass/First Session-(Fich Art-Germany-1991)

Great split tape with two great projects coming from this amazing German label Fich Art.

 Monokrom is another eardrum terrorist that will trigger some more brain distortions on planet Earth. Metallic bass grooves distorted at wishes, flows of deteriorated machine sounds, over-manipulated and undefinable noise assaults, sharp metallic distortions of the kind found on hostile alien airwaves, relentless scratched beats and vibrating lamenting voice fragments all belong to Monokrom's new order of chaos. Dark atmospheres aggravate to cold, sheer fear; the ultimate threat. Massive beats, torn to shreds by metal splinters, subfrequent sequences, metallic echoing, herald the advance of an inorganic intelligence without hurry, though victory is near. 

 Ars Moriendi [Bielefeld, Germany] were founded in 1989.

Fich Art is the amazing label founded in 1989 by the members of Ars Moriendi, Moata-Omen, Asche and T.R.G. to promote their music.

BULIMIA BANQUET-Live A Forte Prenestino il 4/5/91-(Kontagio Produzioni Tapes-Italy-1991)

This is an amazing document about the Bulimia Banquet gig in this famous Italian squat.

This band from Los Angels(California, USA ) plays a very personal style of alternative punk, somehow touching the indie, the math rock, and the hardcore punk. A genial band delivering explosive live performances with funny talks and lyrics. This tape is here to prove it with an excellent recording.

Kontagio Produzioni Tapes was a small distro releasing mostly live tapes recorded in this massive squat(probably the biggest in Europe).
Forte Prenestino is, in fact, a fort squatted on the end of the 80s and still alive and kicking. 

To complete this post I am attaching few nice pics of their gig at the Diskarika Occupata in Foggia during the very same tour.

FLAGRANTS D`ELI-Un Certain Regard...D`Espoir ?-(Self Released-France-1991)

Flagrants D`Eli was a French Anarco-punk band from Epernon, formed in 1986.They released lots of tapes and few 7inches.Their music is a strange form of lo-wi avantgarde experimental punk with a very personal touch.

Definitely, a band that deserves the attention of people into weird punk, interesting lyrics, and strange passages.

Helou Kaet & Son n8-(Fanzine-Joukkomurha Products-Finland-1991)

Number 8 of this Finnish fanzine focused on short stories, poetries music , mail art and comics.I already posted the number 10 and the number 9.It was assembled and distributed by Jupe Luoma in the early 90s.Jupe was also into mail art and running the label Joukkormurha Tapes and the sublabel JM Tapes.
I posted quite few tapes by this Finnish label, you will find them here. 

This fanzine has few articles, short stories, some poetries, lots of nice graphix works and comics and more random stuff.

Few poetries are in English, the most of the articles/comics and other writings are in Finnish.

Zips & Chains n7-(Fanzine-Italy/Yugoslavia-1991)

Excellent fanzine managed by Dario Adamic, made in Italy but all in the English language.This is the number 7 and it has lots of interesting interviews, music reviews, letters...

This is a classic from the very underground press scene of the early 90s, well done with love and passion it remains a great source to research the lively DIY Punk scene of that era.

FleischLEGO-Promo-(Self Released-Germany-1991)

Short promo tape by this german punk band founded in 1989 in Freiburg and disbanded in 1995. They reformed in 2008.

Punishment Park Early Biography + Rare Video Concert 1991-(Norway - 1991)

This is one of the very first shows Punishment Park ever did as a band. It was support for the band Stage Dolls in 1991. The show took place in Oshallen in Osøyro south of Bergen in Norway. The band played songs from their now legendary self-title first album which was released in august 1991. This is a very rare recording of the band from that period. And it has been a secret up till now (even for the band) that someone did record this show back then. The line up: Kjell - guitar, Claes - bass, Pez - drums, Anja - vocals. Enjoy Punishment Park live from 1991.

DER PILZ-Chora Szum-(Trummer Kassetten-Germany-c60-1991)

Der Pilz is another project by the very active artist : Lutz Pruditsch.
I wrote about him when I posted the amazing tapes by Tarkatak

Lutz is also the head-master of the astonishing german tape label Trummer Kassetten  covered in this blog quite few time now.  You will find more info about this label here.

In this well crafted tape Lutz offer us 17 nice tracks of drone/noize- ambient,the cover sleeve is a little A5 size booklet with graphix works and few info.
